Mage training arena guide[OSRS]

The Mage Training Arena is an exclusive Magic minigame for members, situated to the north of the Emir's Arena in Old School RuneScape. In this minigame, players can earn pizazz points by using various spells in different activities, which can be exchanged for valuable rewards at a shop on the top floor of the arena. It is essential not to confuse this with the Mage Arena, which is a risky Wilderness miniquest with entirely different gameplay.

To participate in all the activities within the Mage Training Arena, players should come prepared with nature runes, cosmic runes, law runes, and all types of elemental runes. Alternatively, players can use staves as substitutes for the elemental runes. The following spells will be cast during the minigame:

1. Telekinetic Grab: Used to move objects from a distance.

2. High and Low Level Alchemy: Used to convert items into coins for different values.

3. Enchant Jewellery Spells (Lvl-1 to Lvl-7): Used to enchant various shapes in the Enchanting Chamber.

4. Bones To Bananas and Bones To Peaches: Used to convert bones into bananas and peaches, respectively.

With these spells at their disposal, players can engage in the various activities within the Mage Training Arena and earn pizazz points to purchase valuable rewards. The minigame offers a unique experience to improve one's Magic skills and obtain useful items for their adventures in the world of Gielinor.

Requirements

To participate in the Mage Training Arena in Old School RuneScape, players need to meet certain requirements and restrictions:

1. Magic Level Requirement: Players must have a minimum Magic level of 7 to participate in the minigame. However, at this level, they will only be able to use a single spell. To access all four activities in the Mage Training Arena, a Magic level of 33 is required, as this unlocks the spell Telekinetic Grab. To use all spells in all areas of the minigame, players need a Magic level of 93, which is required for the enchant zenyte spell.

2. Progress Hat Requirement: Players need to either wear or have the Progress hat in their inventory to participate in the Mage Training Arena. The Progress hat can be obtained from the Entrance Guardian. Talking to the cranky Progress hat will provide information about the pizazz point totals for each room.

3. Restrictions on Items: Players are not allowed to bring clue scrolls and clue caskets into any of the rooms within the Mage Training Arena. In addition, coins cannot be brought into the Alchemists' Playground, and bananas and peaches cannot be brought into the Creature Graveyard.

It's important to note that the Mage Training Arena is a members'-only minigame, so players need to have an active membership to access and participate in it. As players progress through the minigame and earn pizazz points, they can use these points to purchase various rewards from the shop on the top floor of the arena. These rewards include runes, infinity robes, wands, the mage's book, and the Bones to Peaches spell.

Prepare your magical spells, gather the required runes, and don't forget your Progress hat as you embark on your journey into the Mage Training Arena to hone your magical skills! Good luck!

The Mage Training Arena provides players with four different rooms where they can practice their magical skills and earn pizazz points, coins, and runes. Each room focuses on a specific type of magic spell and offers unique challenges for the players. To buy items from the Rewards Guardian, players must accumulate the required number of pizazz points in each of the four rooms.

The teleports to the four rooms are located in the north area of the arena:

Telekinetic Theatre - south

Creature Graveyard - east

Enchanting Chamber - west

Alchemists' Playground - north

The Mage Training Arena consists of four different rooms, each offering unique challenges and rewards related to different magical spells. Let's explore each room in more detail:

1. Telekinetic Theatre: In this room, players must use the Telekinetic Grab spell to navigate a stationary maze guardian through a maze. Each time a player completes a maze, they will earn 2 Telekinetic Pizazz points. If a player successfully solves five mazes in a row, they will receive a bonus of 8 Telekinetic Pizazz points, along with 10 law runes and 1,000 Magic experience. Players can aim to complete around 50 mazes per hour with minimal mistakes, earning approximately 180 points per hour. It takes about 20 seconds on average to earn 1 point.

2. Creature Graveyard: In this room, players must collect bones from bone piles and convert them into fruit using the Bones to Bananas or Bones to Peaches spells. There are four different types of bones that can be collected, and each bone pile will cycle through these bone types sequentially. Once converted into fruit, players must deposit the fruit in slots along the walls of the room to earn Graveyard Pizazz points. For every 16 fruits deposited, players will earn 1 Graveyard Pizazz point. Additionally, players may receive a bonus of one or two water, earth, nature, death, or blood runes.

It's important to note that players will take 2 damage every 6 seconds while inside the Creature Graveyard. Dying in this room will result in the loss of 10 Graveyard Pizazz points.

3. Enchanting Chamber: In this room, players must use enchanting spells to enchant various shapes located in the four corners of the room. Each time a player casts an enchantment spell, they will earn Enchantment Pizazz points. The number of points earned depends on the level of the enchantment spell used (e.g., Level 7 Enchant gives 7 points). If a player casts an enchantment spell on a Dragonstone, they will receive double points. Furthermore, players can deposit the enchanted orbs in the chute located in the middle of the room to earn additional rewards. Depositing every 20 orbs will grant a reward of 3 blood, death, or cosmic runes.

4. Alchemist's Playground: In this room, players must use High Level Alchemy or Low Level Alchemy to convert items into coins. The items can be found inside one of the 8 cupboards in the room. The amount of coins and the locations of the items change every 42.2 seconds. For every 100 coins deposited in the coin deposit box during the minigame, players will receive 1 Alchemist Pizazz point and have 10 coins deposited into their bank account. Additionally, players will gain 2 Magic experience for each coin deposited.

To participate in the Mage Training Arena, players need a minimum Magic level of 7. However, to access all four activities, a Magic level of 33 is required (for Telekinetic Grab), and a level of 93 (for enchanting zenyte) allows players to use all spells in all areas of the minigame. The higher the player's Magic level, the more experience points they will receive. Players should also wear or have in their inventory a Progress hat, obtained from the Entrance Guardian, to keep track of pizazz point totals for each room.

Remember that clue scrolls and caskets are not allowed inside the rooms. Furthermore, players cannot bring coins into the Alchemist's Playground, and bananas and peaches are not allowed in the Creature Graveyard. Come prepared with the necessary runes and staves to effectively cast spells and earn pizazz points in the Mage Training Arena, and don't forget to claim your rewards from the Rewards Guardian with your hard-earned points!

Rewards

In the Mage Training Arena, players can use the pizazz points they've earned to purchase various valuable items from the shop located upstairs. The items available for purchase include runes, infinity robes, wands, the mage's book, and the Bones to Peaches spell. Additionally, players who are struggling with the arena can buy an arena book for 200 coins to aid them in their endeavors.

When purchasing wands from the shop, it's important to note that the prices listed are for upgrades. This means that in order to buy a higher-tier wand (e.g., the master wand), the player must exchange the wand of the tier below it (e.g., the teacher wand) and also spend the required pizazz points. For instance, acquiring the master wand will cost 480 Telekinetic, 480 Graveyard, 4800 Enchantment, and 530 Alchemist pizazz points.

To obtain enough points to purchase everything in the rewards shop at least once, players can expect to spend a considerable number of runes. Here are the approximate rune requirements:

Law runes: Around 4682 (including rewarded runes)

Nature runes: Approximately 13000

Cosmic runes: Between 2000-6000, depending on the level of enchantment spell used

It's essential to use the most efficient methods to gain points, prioritize spells that offer the most points per cast (rather than focusing on speed), and utilize staves to cover all elemental rune costs. Avoid using free casts in the Alchemist's Playground, as they are highly random and may not yield pizazz points.

For a full overview of the costs and requirements, players can refer to the Pizazz points page.

The approximate time for completing each item in the shop is as follows (with minor variations depending on the spell used in the enchantment room):

Bones to Peaches: Around 5.2 hours (requiring 353 Laws, 1075 Natures, and 810 Cosmic Runes)

Mage's Book: Approximately 12.6 hours (needing 883 Laws, 2064 Natures, and 2430 Cosmic Runes)

Master Wand: Roughly 11.5 hours (requiring 848 Laws, 1988 Natures, and 1944 Cosmic Runes)

Infinity Gloves: Around 4.2 hours (needing 309 Laws, 825 Natures, and 608 Cosmic Runes)

Infinity Hat: Approximately 8.1 hours (requiring 618 Laws, 1492 Natures, and 1215 Cosmic Runes)

Infinity Top: Roughly 9.6 hours (needing 706 Laws, 1683 Natures, and 1620 Cosmic Runes)

Infinity Bottoms: Around 11.1 hours (requiring 795 Laws, 1874 Natures, and 2025 Cosmic Runes)

Infinity Boots: Approximately 2.8 hours (needing 212 Laws, 459 Natures, and 486 Cosmic Runes)

Rewards from MTA (Mage Training Arena) in OSRS

The total cost for purchasing all items in the shop is 5024 Laws, 11460 Natures, and 11138 Cosmic Runes. This process will require approximately 65.1 hours of gameplay.
