This update restructures territorial conflicts, introducing new and enhanced gameplay mechanics that enrich the experience of warfare in distant lands. Fortifications allow guilds to bolster the defenses of their territories, provided they invest the necessary resources, making them significantly more challenging to assault or conquer. Additionally, the new Siege Banners complement this function, giving attackers a means to weaken fortifications while offering defending guilds more opportunities to thwart an assault.
Territorial Activity Chests reward guilds that maintain an active presence in their territories, while also providing a valuable incentive for potential attackers during prime time. Furthermore, the Prime Time has been optimized to better align with the active hours of each of the three servers. Moreover, the territories in distant lands feature new designs that further revitalize gameplay, alongside new defense strategies and incentives.
Three new Crystal Weapons are on the horizon, granting incredible abilities to those who wield them. Hammers feature new spells to keep them fresh and enjoyable in various combat situations. Lastly, the much-anticipated Spectator Mode has arrived, offering Albion streamers and creators the necessary tools to broadcast their own tournaments and Arena battles.
This update heralds a new era in territorial warfare with the introduction of Fortifications. These defensive structures, subject to upgrades, reward guilds that dedicate time and resources to fortifying their territories, making them more resilient against assaults and conquests, and providing support to defenders in situations of numerical disadvantage. In addition to their defensive function, Fortifications introduce new strategic elements to territorial battles, adding an extra layer of complexity and tactics to Albion's thrilling guild warfare.
The walls, gates, and guards of these Fortifications can be enhanced through fortification points, which are generated in greater quantity in higher-level territories. Moreover, during prime time, these structures can be subject to attacks, testing their resilience against potential invaders attempting to breach them to seize control of the territory or deplete its energy. This new dynamic component adds an exciting dimension to territorial battles, challenging both attackers and defenders to deploy smart strategies and adapt to the changing conditions of the battlefield.
Albion's territorial warfare has been further enhanced with the introduction of Siege Banners, which are now essential for assaulting or conquering a territory. When raised near an enemy territory, these banners gradually weaken its defenses, rendering fortifications vulnerable and providing combat benefits to the attacking guild and their allies nearby.
However, a defending guild can target players carrying these banners, forcing them to drop them or even destroying them if the attackers fail to reclaim them. This gives defenders another means to neutralize an attack if they employ effective tactics, while also adding an element of unpredictability to territorial battles by offering guilds another objective to vie for.
The Foundations update introduces a compelling new incentive to territorial warfare in Albion through the introduction of Territorial Activity Chests. These chests progressively accumulate loot every day as a result of PvE activities conducted within and around the territory's region, incentivizing guilds to actively engage in the areas under their control. Once the prime time of each day concludes, territory owners can unlock these chests and claim the valuable rewards they have amassed.
However, during prime time, rival guilds have the opportunity to launch assaults on these chests and pilfer the items they contain. Given that the chests' value will be openly displayed on the map, those with greater riches will inevitably become alluring targets for opportunistic rivals.
With powerful Crystal Weapons now on the battlefield, this update introduces the following three weapons in this series:
- Arctic Staff (Ice Staff): Attack your enemies with a powerful barrage of icicles.
- Dual Ghost Blades (Staff): Summon an army of ghosts that attack enemies they encounter.
- Crystal Scythe (Axe): Grants you a powerful ability that propels you and reduces the cooldown of your other spells, turning you into a relentless opponent.
This update brings a long-awaited feature to Albion: Spectator Mode. It offers players the ability to watch Custom Matches without having to participate, allowing creators and streamers to organize and broadcast these fights to their audience.
This enables players to now organize their own tournaments of any size and at any time. For the vast Albion creator community, this represents a valuable tool for developing their content.
To keep battles fresh and exciting, Hammers now feature two new powerful spells:
- Mighty Swing: Swing your hammer forcefully while charging towards your enemies. Deals a significant amount of damage to those you strike.
- Seismic Tremor: Strike the ground repeatedly with your hammer, dealing progressive damage in an increasingly wider area.
