Crowd Pummeler 9-60 is the third boss encountered in Gnomeregan, located on the upper level of the Engineering Labs.
1. Gnomeregan Smash: A frontal spell targeting a player; if not dodged, it will knock the player off the platform, resulting in death.
Tip quick: When he is charging this attack, look at his feet, where they point is where he will launch the Gnomeregan Smash
2. Gear Launcher: Throws two gears onto the floor that move linearly and knock back players if hit.
3. The Claw!: Targets a player, charges towards them, inflicting significant damage, and grabbing them.
While this boss may seem complex, success in the fight largely depends on individual responsibility. Only one tank is required, and they should tank the boss conventionally. The tank needs to be cautious not to get knocked back to ensure maximum melee DPS uptime.
At the beginning of the encounter, the boss will throw two gears onto the floor using "Gear Launcher". Players must dodge these gears as they move linearly through the boss area. Although they are relatively slow, positioning should be mindful, as getting hit by the gears can knock players off the platforms, resulting in death.
Periodically, the boss will use a frontal attack called "Gnomeregan Smash", targeting a player and shooting a large projectile that causes knockback and potential fall damage. This can be easily avoided by observing the boss's feet to determine its facing direction, as the upper half of the body may be oriented elsewhere.
As the fight progresses and the boss reaches around 30% health, it gains the ability to cast "The Claw!". This targets a random player, and the boss dashes to grab them, dealing significant damage. The telegraph for this move is noticeable, so healers should pay close attention and ensure the targeted player survives the initial damage and subsequent attacks.
- Keep the boss centrally positioned to provide casters and healers with more maneuvering space, aiding in higher uptime and easier dodging of abilities such as "Gear Launcher" and "Gnomeregan Smash".
- Avoid getting hit by the gears from "Gear Launcher" to maintain predictable boss movement and allow melee DPS to maintain high uptime.
- Consider using a Free Action Potion to prevent knock-back from the gears of "Gear Launcher."
- Respect the gears from "Gear Launcher" to maximize uptime.
- Rogues can utilize Vanish to negate both the dash damage and grab from "The Claw!".
- Paladins can use Blessing of Protection on the player targeted by "The Claw!" to grant them immunity.
- Paladins can also use Blessing of Freedom on themselves or others to avoid moving out of the gears from "Gear Launcher."
- Consider using a Free Action Potion to avoid knock-back from the gears of "Gear Launcher."
- Spread out to minimize movement caused by the frontal projectile of "Gnomeregan Smash."
- Mages can use Blink if hit by "Gnomeregan Smash" to avoid being knocked off, but it's a risky move and should be used cautiously.
- Hunters can use Feign Death to negate both the dash damage and grab from "The Claw!"
- Utilize instant-cast abilities to reposition relative to the movement of the gears from "Gear Launcher" to maintain casting uptime.
- Consider using a Free Action Potion to avoid knock-back from the gears of "Gear Launcher."
- Like ranged DPS, spread out around the boss to minimize movement caused by "Gnomeregan Smash" if it targets someone else.
- Pay close attention to "The Claw!" as it requires targeted healing due to the initial hit and follow-up damage while the player is grabbed.
- Consider using a Free Action Potion to avoid knock-back from the gears of "Gear Launcher."
