Grow a Garden - Everything that the Christmas Event Brought

The Christmas season has officially arrived in Grow a Garden, and with it, one of the biggest and most complete updates of the year. If you’re a fan of the game and love themed events, this new version will captivate you from the very first minute. In this blog, I’ll explain everything new included in the Christmas event, how the gift system works, what items you can obtain, how to progress quickly, and which rewards are truly worth chasing. Additionally, I’ll show you how to make the most of the Advent Calendar, the elf system, the new seeds, and the recently added pets.

Completely Christmas-Themed Environment

When you enter the game after the update, the first thing you’ll notice is the complete change in atmosphere: falling snow, Christmas decorations, and a much more festive vibe. But the most important change at the start is the arrival of a new exclusive, time-limited seed called:

Peppermint Vine Seed

This seed will be essential for collectors and players who want to unlock all the event’s content. It is exclusive to the Christmas season, which means it can only be obtained during this event so if you’re a completionist, you definitely don’t want to miss this opportunity.

How to Complete the Christmas Event?

The main mechanic of the event is similar to previous ones: you must deliver plants with Christmas mutations to the Christmas Harvest in order to receive the event rewards, which are divided into different gift boxes:

- Normal Present
- Christmas Present
- Rare Present
- Santa Surprise Present
- Bad Present

Additionally, among these gift boxes, you will sometimes receive one that you can give to another player and you can also receive them from other players. Every time a player gives a gift to someone else, it contributes to the global counter, which helps unlock new items in the event shop.

Advent Calendar

One of the most important additions is the Advent Calendar.

Here, you can claim a daily present from Day 1 through Day 19. If you complete all the days, you’ll earn an additional exclusive seed as the final reward.

But here’s the important detail:

To receive each daily gift, you must first complete 3 daily missions:

- Give a gift to a friend

- Donate mutated plants

- Plant or harvest a certain number of plants

Each day brings new missions, and you can only complete them once per day, so make sure to log in daily to avoid breaking your Advent Calendar streak.

Pets – Details of Each One

Gift Rat

Ability: Occasionally converts apples into a random gift cosmetic.

Penguin

Ability: Every 12 minutes applies Arctic Mutation to a plant.

Snow Bunny

Ability: Every 11 minutes consumes a carrot and grants a large amount of experience to all Bunnies in the garden.

French Hen

Ability: Increases the size of Christmas-type plants within a 15-distance radius.

Christmas Gorilla

Ability: Every 5 minutes consumes a fruit with a cold mutation to reduce the cooking time of a pot by 81 seconds.

Mistletoad

Abilities:

- Every 14 minutes croaks at the nearest plant.

- Accelerates its growth by 15 minutes for each Christmas pet in your garden.

- All fruits on that plant gain the Chilled mutation.

Krampus

Ability: Every 9 minutes consumes a percentage of your Sheckls to punish the nearest player.

Snowman Soldier

Ability: Every 2 minutes grants snowballs.

Snowman Builder

Ability: Every 3 minutes consumes fruits with a cold mutation and grants a Snow-fort–based cosmetic.

Arctic Fox

Abilities (every 23 minutes):

- Steals random unique fruits.

- Refreshes the seed shop, ignoring favorites.

Frost Dragon

Abilities:

- Every 8 minutes converts all Frozen mutations within a 30-distance radius into Glacial mutations.

- Grants 560 XP to all pets for each mutation converted (max 10,000 XP).

- When selling fruits with a glacial mutation, there is a 6% chance that one of its mutations will copy to another random fruit in the garden.
