The latest update of Grow a Garden brought with it a change that has sparked quite a debate within the community: the arrival of the Ascension system, also known as the Garden Ascension shop. This mechanic has completely transformed the way players manage their progress and, most importantly, their money in the game.

What is the Ascension system?

The system works in a simple way, but with a huge impact: when you rebirth, you lose absolutely all the money you’ve accumulated, and in return, you receive the so-called Garden Coins, a new currency that can be used in the Garden Ascension shop to purchase permanent upgrades for your character.

Your seeds, plants, items, and pets are not affected; only the money disappears.

Why was this change implemented?

The main reason is that the money system was broken. Many players had absurd amounts of resources (quintillions and more), which made money lose its value. In addition:

- Shops didn’t require large sums to purchase seeds or items.

- Money became practically useless.

- Money trading was disabled to prevent abuse.

Rebirth emerged as a solution to “reset” the game’s economy and give farming a new purpose.

Is it worth doing?

The short answer is yes.

Hoarding enormous amounts of money no longer makes sense, since it’s practically useless. Many items you can buy in shops, such as seeds, cosmetics, or tools, cost only a few million at most.

Garden Points will be key to progressing and gaining access to new upgrades and surely new content in the game.

Of course, it may hurt to see quintillions of money disappear, but at the end of the day, you’ll be able to recover it very quickly since most players already have plants or pets that make this task much easier.

How can I ascend?

It’s very easy, you just need to go to the Garden Ascension, which is located to the left of the shop where we sell our plants. Talk to the NPC and choose option number 2. Once you provide the required fruit, you will ascend. You must meet the requirements exactly, as sometimes it demands a fruit with very specific mutations, and these requirements are random for each player.
