When donned, this necklace bestows a 25% chance of shielding the wearer from both harm and incapacitation while engaged in pickpocketing NPCs. Initially possessing 10 charges, each successful instance where the necklace prevents damage consumes one charge. Upon depletion of the final charge, the necklace disintegrates. This effect interacts multiplicatively with the spell Shadow Veil, where Shadow Veil takes precedence in attempting to prevent the stun, culminating in a cumulative 36.25% probability of evading damage from an unsuccessful pickpocketing endeavor. Worth noting is that the Dodgy Necklace exerts no influence on blackjacking, as players are impervious to harm when pickpocketing unconscious NPCs, and damage only results from a botched knockout attempt.

Similar to other enchanted jewelry such as the ring of forging, the charges attributed to the Dodgy Necklace are tied to the individual player rather than the specific item. Consequently, players exhaust a Dodgy Necklace's charges after 10 successful interventions, regardless of the particular necklace they are currently wearing. All Dodgy Necklaces display the same charge count when examined.

Depending on the targeted NPC, a single Dodgy Necklace can avert 10 to 50 points of damage and counteract stun durations spanning from 40 to 60 seconds.
