The Upgraded Iban's staff, also known as Iban's staff (u), is an enhanced version of the regular Iban's staff found in the game. The Upgraded Iban's staff requires 50 Magic and 50 Attack to wield effectively. Unlike the regular Iban's staff, which holds 120 charges, the upgraded version holds 2,500 charges. Casting Iban Blast on a monster consumes one charge, while casting it on another player consumes two charges. Other spells like Fire Blast do not consume any charges.
The maximum hit with Iban Blast using the Upgraded Iban's staff is 25, making it a potent weapon for low-level player killing and tackling Barrows. Upgrading Iban's staff or wielding the Upgraded Iban's staff is a task in the Medium Ardougne Diary.

How to Obtain the Iban's staff (u)
To acquire the Upgraded Iban's staff, players need to bring an Iban's staff and 200,000 coins to the Dark Mage, located in the tower east of the entrance to the Underground Pass in West Ardougne. Upgrading the staff will also fully charge it.

If the Upgraded Iban's staff is lost before completing the Underground Pass quest, players must kill Disciples of Iban to obtain a broken Iban's staff. After completing the quest, Koftik will provide a broken staff to the player at the entrance to the Underground Pass. The broken staff must be repaired by the Dark Mage with 200,000 coins. To upgrade it again, another 200,000 coins must be paid to the Dark Mage.

How to recharge the Iban's staff
Players have two main methods for recharging Iban's staff or its upgraded variant. The first method involves using the staff on the well where the paladin's badges are dropped, located in the Underground Pass. To reach this location quickly, players can teleport to Lletya using a teleport crystal, use the fairy ring with the code "bjs" (requiring 76 Agility), or charter a ship to Port Tyras after completing the Regicide quest. Another option is to use the Abyss to enter the Death Altar and then exit to the bottom of the Underground Pass.
The fastest route to the well is through the Underground Pass exit north of Lletya. It is advisable to bring antipoison to navigate the pass safely. Upon entering the pass, climb down the well, traverse the agility obstacles, and proceed through the door to the north-east to reach the well. Using the staff on the well will recharge it.
For those who prefer not to go through the Underground Pass, an alternative method is to pay the Dark Mage in West Ardougne. The cost is 100,000 coins to recharge the standard Iban's staff or 250,000 coins for the upgraded variant. This provides players with a convenient option for recharging without the need to navigate the Underground Pass.
