Crafted by combining grapes with a jug of water, a jug of wine is a food item requiring a Cooking level of 35 and offering 200 Cooking experience upon creation. The process begins with squeezing grapes into a jug of water, producing unfermented wine. After 12 seconds of fermentation, this unfermented wine transforms into either a jug of wine or a jug of bad wine. The chance of creating bad wine persists until reaching a Cooking level of 68.
Jug of wine serves as a swift and efficient means to accumulate Cooking experience. Accessing the Cooking Guild can expedite the process, thanks to its water source, jug, and grape respawns. A jug of wine can be found as a spawn in Catherby, located upstairs in the building north of the western bank. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Zambo at Karamja Wines, Spirits, and Beers, or obtained through purchase or theft from Fortunato's Wine stall at Draynor Village Market. Ali the Barman in Pollnivneach also sells them.
This item proves particularly beneficial for pure rangers and mages due to its affordability and easy availability. Offering 11 Hitpoints of healing, slightly less than a lobster's 12, jug of wine costs significantly less on the Grand Exchange. It's important to note that using jug of wine temporarily decreases Attack by a few points. Melee-oriented characters can also leverage jug of wine for healing, ensuring they restore their Attack stat, for instance, with a Restore potion. In situations where attacking isn't required, such as Wintertodt, jug of wine stands as an economical healing option for any combat style.
Moreover, jug of wine proves invaluable for training during Agility, Thieving, and Wintertodt activities, as these pursuits remain unaffected by combat statistics.
