The King Black Dragon takes residence in the King Black Dragon Lair, distinct from the Wilderness itself. This means that teleports can be employed within the lair if necessary. However, reaching the lair mandates traversing through the Wilderness, so exercise caution and refrain from bringing valuable items you're not prepared to lose.

Here's a compilation of methods, listed from fastest to slowest, to access the King Black Dragon Lair:

1. Burning Amulet:

Teleport to the Lava Maze using a burning amulet.

Travel west and then north along the fence.

Pass through the gate and descend the ladder.

2. Player-Owned House Obelisk:

Requires completing the Achievement Diary hard Wilderness Diary or higher.

Opt for level 44 teleport at the obelisk in your superior garden.

Right-click the Wilderness Obelisk and select teleport to destination.

Journey southeast, pass through the gate, and descend the ladder.

3. Ghorrock Teleport (Tablet/Portal):

Requires completing the Desert Treasure I quest.

Use Ghorrock Teleport (or tablet/portal) to reach the Frozen Waste Plateau, near the level 44 Wilderness Obelisk west of the KBD lair.

Head southeast, go through the gate, and descend the ladder.

4. Games Necklace and Wilderness Obelisk:

Requires completing the Achievement Diary hard Wilderness Diary or higher.

Teleport to the Corporeal Beast's lair using a games necklace.

Exit the cave and travel southeast to the Wilderness Obelisk.

5. Waka Canoe:

Melee Attack: The King Black Dragon will execute a melee attack approximately one-third of the time, provided the target is within melee range. This attack can deal a maximum of 25 damage. Utilizing the Protect from Melee prayer negates all damage from this attack.

Dragonfire Attacks: Expect a dragonfire attack with a 50% chance of a special dragonfire variant. Three types of special dragonfires (Toxic, Shocking, and Icy breath) are equally likely, each manifesting with a 1/9 chance in melee range or a 1/6 chance outside melee range.

Fiery Breath: This attack delivers a potential damage of up to 65. Employ antifire shields, antifire potions, Protect from Magic, or a combination thereof to partially mitigate its impact.

Toxic Breath: With the potential to deal up to 50 damage, this attack may also inflict poison upon a successful hit (starting at 8 damage). Employ antifire shields and Protect from Magic, or both, to reduce its damage and effects.

Shocking Breath: Capable of dealing up to 50 damage, this attack poses a risk of draining two levels from all the player's stats on a successful hit. Employ antifire shields and Protect from Magic to minimize the damage and potential stat reduction.

Icy Breath: This attack can cause up to 50 damage and has the potential to freeze the player for 10 ticks (6 seconds) upon a successful hit. To counter this attack, use antifire shields and Protect from Magic.

Suicide Strategy for King Black Dragon Lair Access:

For those traversing the Wilderness to reach the King Black Dragon Lair, a unique strategy called the "Suicide Method" can be employed to carry more than the usual number of valuable items. Here's how to execute this method effectively:

1. Prepare the Looting Bag:

Fill the looting bag with non-essential items such as potions and food, ensuring four spaces remain empty.

2. Configure Your Inventory:

Equip the inventory with the looting bag, a burning amulet, 22 pieces of food, and the four valuable items you intend to "smuggle" into the King Black Dragon Lair.

3. Activate Protect Item:

Initiate the Protect Item prayer to safeguard one of your most valuable items.

4. Access the Lair:

Dash to the lever that grants entry to the King Black Dragon lair.

5. Quick Actions:

While positioned beside the lever, swiftly transfer the four valuable items into the looting bag. Immediately thereafter, engage the lever to enter the lair.

6. Execution of the Suicide Strategy:

Confront the King Black Dragon and allow yourself to perish. Your inventory items and the looting bag contents will disperse onto the ground. These items will be retained within your gravestone for exactly 15 minutes. If unclaimed within this time frame, they will be transported to the death's lair and require a fee for retrieval.

7. Final Preparation:

Proceed to equip yourself properly for the forthcoming King Black Dragon encounter. Keep the four slots of the previously "smuggled" items vacant. Upon entry into the King Black Dragon Lair, these items will be collected from the ground and equipped.
