Path of Exile 2 - Tips and Tricks

This guide will provide you with useful tips to improve your Path of Exile experience, from the initial setup to equipment and skill management.

Visualizing your character's and enemies' health is crucial. To activate the life mini-bars:

Remember that enemy life mini-bars only appear once they have taken damage.

- Open the Options menu.

- Go to the "Interface" tab.

- Find the "Game" section.

- Check "Show life mini-bar above you" and/or "Show life mini-bar above NPCs". In the latter's dropdown menu, you can select "Enemies" or "Allies".

Equipment in Path of Exile has different rarities:

Disenchanting: Transforms objects into shards that can then be converted into useful orbs:

Retrieving: White items with sockets or quality improvements can be retrieved to obtain upgrade materials.

- Normal (White): Sell for gold.

- Magic (Blue): Disenchant to obtain transmutation shards.

- Rare (Yellow): Disenchant to obtain regal shards.

- Unique (Orange): Keep (they are valuable).

- Transmutation Shards (Blue): 10 shards = Orb of Transmutation (upgrades a normal item to magic).

- Regal Shards (Yellow): 10 shards = Regal Orb (adds a modifier to a magic item, turning it into rare).

- Artisan's Shards (White with quality or sockets): 10 shards = Artisan's Orb (creates a socket in an item).

Upgrading your equipment is essential for progression. Use orbs such as:

Remember that socketed gems are permanent.

- Orbs of Transmutation: To convert normal items into magic ones.

- Orbs of Augmentation: To add modifiers to magic items.

- Regal Orbs: To convert magic items into rare ones.

- Orbs of Exaltation: To add a random modifier to a rare item.

- Armour Scraps/Blacksmith's Whetstones/Glassblower's Baubles: To improve the base stats of armors, weapons, and flasks respectively.

Check the map to find additional objectives (marked with a "+"). These objectives offer valuable rewards, including permanent stat upgrades and passive skill points.

Your Ascendancy (class specialization) choice is permanent. Take your time to read each one's skills before deciding. Individual passive skill points can be redistributed.

Compare the DPS (Damage per Second) of your skills with different weapons. Open the skills tab and swap the weapons to see how the DPS values change.

The stash and gold are shared between all your characters. You can keep useful equipment for other characters. If you prefer a solo experience, you can select "Solo Self-Found" when creating a league.

Don't be afraid to use uncut skill gems. More can be obtained. These gems are not bound to the character.

Explore unrecommended support gems. They can offer interesting synergies, especially for hybrid builds. Pay attention to the support requirements and cost multipliers.

Don't limit yourself to using orbs only on rare items. Use Orbs of Transmutation, Augmentation, Regal, and Alchemy on magic and normal items with good modifiers. Don't wait to find the perfect item, create your own upgrades.
