WoW Cataclysm - Occu'thar Boss Guide

In a tumultuous eruption of violence, Occu'thar, the ravenous demon, broke free from its chains, unleashing chaos upon the western wing of the prison. Its insatiable voracity led it to engulf every inmate who stood in its path, leaving behind only desolation and despair. However, its voracious appetite proved to be its downfall, as its bloated body became too cumbersome to navigate the narrow passages of the jail. Thus, the western wing transformed into Occu'thar's own prison, trapping the once-feared demon within its walls. Now, shadows lurk in the dark corners of this wing, where echoes of the condemned's screams still reverberate between the walls. Occu'thar's presence serves as a silent warning to those who dare challenge the boundaries of the prison, reminding them that even the most powerful can succumb to the prison of their own creation.

Occu'thar Abilities

Occu'thar possesses a formidable array of abilities, each designed to wreak havoc upon his foes:

1.  Focused Fire: Occu'thar fixes his gaze on a random player's location, unleashing a torrent of fiery destruction. Over 2 seconds, this gaze inflicts 9750-10250 Fire damage every second, followed by 34125-35875 Fire damage every second to players within 12 yards of the targeted area.

2.  Searing Shadows: With this ability, Occu'thar unleashes a wave of darkness, inflicting 102375-107625 Shadow damage to players within a 60-degree cone in front of him. Furthermore, this attack increases Shadow damage taken by 100% for a duration of 30 seconds.

3. Eyes of Occu'thar: Occu'thar conjures Eyes of Occu'thar, affixing one to each player for a duration of 10 seconds. These eyes fixate on their hosts, preparing to unleash devastating power.

-  Gaze of Occu'thar: The Eyes of Occu'thar focus their gaze on their designated hosts, inflicting 8775-9225 Shadow damage every second for 10 seconds.

-  Occu'thar's Destruction: Should an Eye of Occu'thar remain attached to a player for the full duration of 10 seconds, it burrows deeply into its host, triggering Occu'thar's Destruction. This explosion deals 19500-20500 Shadow damage to all players within the vicinity.
