WoW Season of Discovery Rogue Runes Phase 2

Rogue runes are essential elements that enhance your abilities and prowess as a Rogue in World of Warcraft. As you journey through the Season of Discovery, uncovering these runes will greatly augment your gameplay experience.

Runes Phase 2

 Poisoned Knife (Belt):

Description: Requires Melee WeaponInstantly throw your off-hand weapon to deal normal off-hand weapon damage with a 100% chance to apply the poison from your off-hand weapon to the target. Awards 1 combo point.

Poisoned Knife benefits from all talents and effects that trigger from or modify Sinister Strike.

Poisoned Knife Rune Location: To obtain the coveted Poisoned Knife Rune, follow these clandestine steps through the shadows of Desolace, Booty Bay, and Arathi Highlands:

1. Desolace Quest Start: Begin your adventure by obtaining the "Highway Robbery" quest in Desolace. Locate an Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard at coordinates /way 47 54.

2. Desolace - On the Lam: Head to /way 63 39 near Kormek's Hut in Desolace. Turn in the "Highway Robbery" quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the quest "On the Lam."

3. Booty Bay - Cherry for Your Thoughts?: Journey to Booty Bay and visit the inn. Turn in "On the Lam" to Tokal and acquire the quest "Cherry for Your Thoughts?". Purchase Cherry Grog for the next part of your quest, "No Honor Among Thieves."

4. Arathi Highlands Bridge: Seek out a rowboat located under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, approximately at /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat to teleport to the eastern shore.

5. Confront Illari Duskfeather: Locate Illari Duskfeather and engage in conversation. For most races, two equally hostile dialogue options will be presented. Choose one to initiate combat with Illari. Defeat her, collect the dropped bag, and loot Illari's Key.

6. Unlock the Treasure: Utilize Illari's Key to unlock the Jewel-Encrusted Box. Open the box and claim your well-earned Rune.

Note: Night Elves have a peaceful dialogue solution available, and if chosen, Illari will provide them with Illari's Key for the Jewel-Encrusted Box. May the arcane winds guide you through this intricate quest, and may the Poisoned Knife Rune enhance your magical prowess!

 Shadowstep (Belt):

Description: Attempts to step through the shadows and reappear behind your enemy and increases movement speed by 70% for 3 sec.

Shadowstep Rune Location: Follow these steps to acquire the Rune of Shadowstep and learn the powerful ability, Shadowstep.*

1. Receive the Mysterious Letter: At level 30, you will receive a mysterious letter in your mailbox from a shadowy figure identified only as "C." The letter outlines a mission that is described as "a touch more involved than your foray into Shadowfang Keep."

2. Head to Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest: Travel to Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest. Locate the Dead Drop chest, situated at coordinates /way #1421 47.1 71.1. 

3. Pick Up the Quest "The Eye of Bhossca": Upon opening the Dead Drop chest, you'll find a quest item inside - "The Eye of Bhossca." Loot this item to initiate the quest.

4. Obtain a Disguise: Follow the quest instructions to find a disguise on the grounds of Scarlet Monastery in Tirisfal Glades. Head behind the Monastery and locate a box inside the stable. Loot the box to acquire the disguise.

5. Infiltrate Scarlet Monastery: Put on the disguise and enter the outer area of Scarlet Monastery. Note that the disguise only works inside the Scarlet Monastery instance and not in a group.

6. Acquire the Scryer's Key:

- In the Graveyard wing, use Pick Pocket on a Scarlet Scryer

- Scryer and loot the Scryer's Key.

7. Retrieve the Athanaeum Box: Proceed to the Library wing and loot a sparkling box inside the Athanaeum.

8. Perform a Secret Ritual in the Forlorn Cloister: Go back to the Graveyard wing and /sit on a bench in the Forlorn Cloister. Then, cross the room and /sit on the bench on the other side.

9. Loot the Mausoleum Niche: Head north (right on your minimap) and loot a sparkling chest inside one of the mausoleum niches in the Graveyard wing.

10. Complete the Quest in the Gallery of Treasures: Return to the Library wing and go to the Gallery of Treasures. Loot the final box for the Eye of Bhossca.

11. Place the Eye in the Dead Drop Chest: Return to Pyrewood Village and place the Eye of Bhossca in the Dead Drop chest.

12. Retrieve the Lockbox from Your Mail: Head back to a major city (not a village or settlement) and check your mail. You will receive a lockbox containing crucial information.

13. Loot the Rune of Shadowstep: Return to the Dead Drop in Pyrewood Village and retrieve the Rune of Shadowstep from the chest.

Congratulations! You've successfully navigated the intricate web of clues and completed the quest to obtain the Rune of Shadowstep. 

 Shuriken Toss (Belt):

Description: Throw a shuriken at your enemy dealing damage equal to 15% of your Attack Power, and also strike up to 4 additional nearby targets. Awards 1 combo point.

Shuriken Toss Rune Location: Embark on a quest to discover the elusive Rune of the Assassin, a key item required to unlock the formidable ability, Shuriken Toss.

1. Journey to Swamp of Sorrows: Make your way to the ominous Swamp of Sorrows. Navigate to coordinates (/way 42, 30) to pinpoint the specific location where the Shuriken Toss Rune awaits.

2. Locate the Dart Trap: Keep a vigilant eye for a Dart Trap cunningly attached to a tree. Approach the area cautiously, as triggering this trap will result in the launch of a Poison Dart.

3. Disarm the Dart Trap: Equip your skills and use Disarm Trap on the Dart Trap to neutralize its threat. Exercise caution and precision, as success in disarming the trap will yield the coveted Rune of the Assassin.

 Rolling with the Punches (Boots):

Description: Each time you Dodge or Parry, you gain 6% increased Health, stacking up to 5 times.

Rolling with the Punches Rune Location: Prepare for the journey to acquire the elusive Rune of the Southpaw, the key item required to master the art of "Rolling with the Punches."

1. Venture to Camp E'Thok in Thousand Needles: Rogues, set your sights on Camp E'Thok located in Thousand Needles. Navigate to coordinates (/way 18.5 20.9) to pinpoint the largest tent in the area.

2. Enter the Largest Tent: Once at the largest tent, explore its interior. You'll find yourself inside a haven of secrets and opportunities.

3. Locate the Small Chest on the Right Wall: Scan the right wall of the tent to discover a small chest tucked away. This inconspicuous container holds the key to unlocking the Rolling with the Punches Rune.

4. Unveil the Chest-within-a-Chest Mystery: Open the small chest to reveal an intriguing twist a chest within a chest. Repeat this process of unveiling nested chests until you finally unveil the coveted Rune of the Southpaw.

 Waylay (Boots):

Description: Your Ambush and Backstab hits unbalance your target, increasing the time between their melee attacks by 10%, and reducing movement speed by 50% for 8 sec.

Waylay Rune Location: Embark on a mysterious journey to uncover the secrets of Waylay, a technique that disrupts your foes in Deadwind Pass and beyond.

1. Venture into Deadwind Pass and seek out the Dalaran Agent at Ariden's Camp. Engage in conversation with them to receive Ariden's Sigil.

2. Equip Ariden's Sigil and venture forth, or join forces with another player who bears this mystical artifact. With the sigil activated, players must uncover and defeat seven formidable Dark Rider Elites. Activate Ariden's Sigil to Reveal Dark Rider, and the presence of a Dark Rider will be signaled by the acquisition of the Dark Presence buff.

3. Hunt down the Dark Riders in various locations:

- Deadwind Pass: (/way 43 29) 

- Duskwood: (/way 23 47) 

- Swamp of Sorrows: (/way 69 28).

- Arathi Highlands: (/way 60 40).

- Badlands: (/way 58 54).

- The Barrens: (/way 52 36).

- Desolace: (/way 65 25).

4. Collect the diverse Dalaran Relics dropped by the Dark Riders, including Odd Dalaran Relic, Whirring Dalaran Relic, Heavy Dalaran Relic, Slippery Dalaran Relic, and Creepy Dalaran Relic.

5. Return to the Dalaran Agent with all obtained Dalaran Relics and turn in the respective reward quests:

 Master of Subtlety (Boots):

Description: Attacks made while stealthed and for 6 seconds after breaking stealth cause an additional 10% damage.

Master of Subtlety Rune Location: Embark on a covert mission to uncover the secrets of the Rune of Subtlety, a crucial item required to unlock the powerful ability, Master of Subtlety.

1. Journey to Kurzen's Compound in Stranglethorn Vale: Navigate to Kurzen's Compound in the northern region of Stranglethorn Vale. Locate a stone tower within the compound, and to the north of it, find a cave embedded into the hillside.

2. Enter the Stone Tower and Free Wendel Mathers: Explore the stone tower and discover Wendel Mathers imprisoned in a cage (/way 44.2 8.0). Initiate a conversation with Wendel, and he will task you with obtaining the key to secure his freedom.

3. Pickpocket Kurzen Mobs for the Key: Enter the cave and pickpocket Kurzen mobs to locate the key required to unlock Wendel Mathers' cage. Keep an eye out for the key as you navigate through the cave.

4. Loot the Chest in the Cave (Optional): Within the cave, there is a chest that requires 125 lockpicking skill to open. If you possess this skill, loot the chest for potential additional rewards.

5. Return to the Tower and Free Wendel Mathers: Return to the stone tower and use the obtained key to free Wendel Mathers from his captivity.

6. Return to Booty Bay and Find Captain Aransas: Travel back to Booty Bay and seek out Captain Aransas. You'll find her at coordinates (/way 27.8 76.6), on the lower fishing platform.

7. Talk to Captain Aransas to Receive the Rune: Initiate a conversation with Captain Aransas and present your findings. In return, she will reward you with the coveted Rune of Subtlety, unlocking the potent Master of Subtlety ability for your rogue.

As a bonus, Captain Aransas grants you Jani's Charm as well.
