Barrows gloves are a highly coveted item in Old School RuneScape, available for 130,000 coins from the Culinaromancer's Chest in the Lumbridge Castle cellar after completing the "Recipe for Disaster" quest. These gloves are notable for providing the second-highest offensive bonuses for Ranged, only surpassed by the Zaryte vambraces; the second-highest Magic offensive bonus, behind the tormented bracelet; and the second-highest Strength bonus, behind the ferocious gloves. These advantages make them essential, and many players work towards obtaining them as a long-term goal.
While these gloves do not require a specific Defence level, they cannot be acquired with 1 Defence without using glitches, due to the levels and experience required to complete "Recipe for Disaster." The minimum Defence level needed to obtain and equip these gloves is 35, considering all quest requirements and experience rewards, assuming the player did not accept Daero's training at the end of "Monkey Madness I."
