OSRS - Everything Coming in Varlamore Part 3

The third part of the Varlamore storyline has arrived in OSRS, bringing with it a massive wave of content packed with new challenges. This new update will introduce everything from new weapons and enemies to a never-before-seen boss mechanic, and it’s designed for both veteran and new players alike. If you're ready to dive into the world of Varlamore, here’s a detailed summary of everything coming to the game in just a few days.

New Quest

Everything begins with the conclusion of the Valore quest line, titled "The Final Dawn." This quest doesn't seem particularly difficult, but it is mandatory if you want to access the most challenging content in this expansion.

New Quest

The main reward for completing the quest is a new melee weapon, designed to rival the famous dragon scimitar. This new sword features a special attack that inflicts burn damage on the enemy, ensuring additional damage over time.

Quest requirements:

- 66 Thieving
- 52 Runecraft
- 52 Fletching
- Completion of The Heart of Darkness and Perilous Moons

New Nagua

Along with this quest, new types of Naguas are being introduced monsters that will join the existing sulphur nagua and frost nagua variants. These enemies will have a chance to drop a new dual-wield stab weapon: the Earthbound Tecpatl, completing the triad alongside the Sulphur Blades and the Glacial Temotli. It has not yet been confirmed whether these new variants will require a Slayer level.

Gemstone Crab

Another interesting creature is the Gemstone Crab, an enemy designed to be fought in groups. Upon defeating it, players will be rewarded with a generous amount of gems. It’s still unknown whether it can be fought solo or if it will allow for AFK skill training, similar to other types of crabs.

New Slayer Dungeon

The Custodia Pass is a dangerous stretch of rocky terrain that marks the border between Varlamore and Kourend, making it the perfect spot for Slayer enthusiasts. After completing a quest, you’ll gain access to a new Slayer dungeon, filled with creatures ready to be hunted.

New Slayer Dungeon

Within this dungeon, you'll encounter the fearsome Custodia Stalkers, which can drop the Antler Guard, a new tradeable off-hand item. This weapon focuses on providing offensive and Prayer bonuses, though it comes at the cost of significantly reduced defensive stats.

Fletching minigame

One of the most notable changes is the new minigame for training Fletching, one of the least exciting skills in the game. This content takes place in Auburnvale, where players will chop wood, carve totems, and decorate these altars with items like unfinished bows and crossbow parts.

Fletching minigame

Forest spirits will visit the totems and leave behind rewards, which include:

- The Fletching Knife, which allows you to fletch one tick faster.

- The Bow String Spool, which lets you string up to 27 bows in a single action.

- Atlatl Dart Crafting, used to create special masks and unique totems.

New Boss Endgame

The crown jewel of this expansion is the new boss, Otto Aayak, introduced in the instance known as The Doom of the Mokhaiotl. This encounter features a mechanic called Delve, inspired by the "enrage" system from RuneScape 3. As you defeat the boss, you’ll descend deeper into its lair, increasing both the difficulty and the potential rewards. There will be up to eight levels of difficulty, and you’ll be able to stop at any point to claim your loot… or keep going in search of epic rewards.

New Boss Endgame

This boss is expected to be on par with The Inferno or the Fortis Colosseum at its highest level. However, even late-game players will likely be able to attempt the earlier tiers and potentially obtain valuable unique items to sell.

Rewards

Some of the most notable rewards include:

- Eye of Aayak: a three-tick magic wand with a special attack that lowers the target’s magic defense and increases your damage.

- Avernic Treads: the new best-in-slot boots in the game, combining the three Cerberus boots with offensive bonuses for all combat styles. They even provide ranged strength, something never seen before.

- Confliction Gauntlets: the best-in-slot magic gloves. Their special effect rolls accuracy twice if your last attack missed, significantly boosting your DPS.
