Everything You Need to Know About the Flashpoint Update in ARC Raiders

Everything You Need to Know About the Flashpoint Update in ARC Raiders

The new Flashpoint update for ARC Raiders is finally here and it didn’t come light. This March 1.22.0 patch brings deep gameplay changes, new threats, quality-of-life improvements, and content that completely redefines how every raid in the Topside is played.

Everything you need to know about this update, in the most concise way possible, can be found below.

The New ARC Vaporizer

The New ARC Vaporizer

This is a new flying ARC that can be considered on the same threat level as a Rocketeer but instead of firing rockets, it unleashes a concentrated energy beam that will turn anything it touches into dust.

On top of its signature beam, the Vaporizer has the ability to deploy a shield when critically damaged, especially when its turbines are hit. This shield behaves just like the Matriarch’s, completely neutralizing any incoming fire and forcing you to rethink your approach on the fly. When you take down a Vaporizer, you will be able to loot a Vaporizer Regulator, which is required to craft the new legendary energy shotgun.

Note: If this thing catches you out in the open with no cover… you’re as good as dead.

New Map Modifier: Close Scrutiny

New Map Modifier Close Scrutiny

Flashpoint introduces a dynamic event called Close Scrutiny, and it completely flips the way you approach loot. Across the map, overall loot is reduced but in exchange, random probes will drop from the sky, known as ARC Assessors.

These are high-risk, high-reward hotspots. Inside, you’ll find top-tier loot and even Blueprints for the new weapons introduced in this update.

You won’t miss them. Each Assessor fires three massive red beams into the sky, visible from anywhere on the map basically a global invitation for chaos.

But here’s the catch.

These drops are heavily guarded. Expect at least two Vaporizers, backed by multiple ARCs. And we’re not talking light resistance you can run into scenarios with 2 Rocketeers, 2 Vaporizers, and over 20 smaller ARCs swarming the area. Absolute madness.

And if you’re playing PvP? That’s another layer of pressure. You’re not just fighting machines you’re fighting every other Raider trying to claim the same loot.

Note: Each ARC Assessor has three containers, one on each leg. To loot them, you’ll need to wait for a platform to align in front of the container jump too early, and you’re dropping straight to the ground.

New Weapons and Blueprints

By now, most players already know there are two new weapons in the game: a Rare Medium Ammo SMG called Canto, and a Legendary Energy Shotgun known as Dolabra.

Dolabra

Dolabra

This is a short-to-mid range energy shotgun that is completely broken right now. It’s currently terrorizing Stella Montis, as players who’ve managed to get their hands on it are dominating PvP with it. It hits insanely hard and can wipe enemies before they even have time to react.

To craft it, you’ll need:

  • 3 Shredder Gyros
  • 3 Magnetic Accelerators
  • 2 Vaporizer Regulators (the new material dropped by the Vaporizer)

Canto

Canto

This is a new medium ammo SMG that’s shaping up to be a strong contender for PvP. It’s still early, so we don’t fully know how it performs or whether it outclasses the Bobcat but it definitely has the potential to become a go-to option, especially if it turns out to be more cost-efficient.

To craft it, you’ll need:

  • 2 Advanced Mechanical Components
  • 5 Magnets
  • 3 Medium Gun Parts

New Crafting System

New Crafting System

Another change introduced in this update maybe not as flashy as the others, but a massive quality-of-life upgrade is the new system for obtaining the resources you’re missing when crafting a specific item.

So how does it work?

Whenever you’re short on components, a new option will appear: “Obtain Resources.” This opens a dedicated tab that shows you exactly where to get the missing materials whether by recycling items or purchasing them from the Speranza traders.

The best part? You can handle everything with a single click, automatically covering what you’re missing and speeding up the entire crafting process.

New Mechanic for Scrappy

New Mechanic for Scrappy

You can now feed your rooster to gain passive rewards and the more you feed him, the better those rewards get.

It’s a simple system on the surface, but it adds a solid layer of long-term optimization to your progression.

Food Types and Benefits

  • Olives: More fabric + medical materials
  • Mixed Fruits: Overall bonus to all resources
  • Mushrooms: More plastic + equipment
  • Agave: Materials for modifiers
  • Apricots: More metal + armory items
  • Lemon: Chemical products + explosives
  • Gochumbo: Rubber + utility items

Other Notable Changes

Other Notable Changes

  • Shredders can now be found across all maps and are no longer exclusive to Stella Montis.
  • A new project called High Gain Antenna has been added, along with its respective rewards.
  • More Sentinel spawn points have been introduced across all maps.
  • Choosing a Free Loadout now drastically lowers your chances of entering a fresh raid you’ll most likely join matches already in progress.
  • A new item called Surge Coil has been added. It’s a deployable similar to the Barricade Kit, but it periodically electrifies its surroundings, shocking anything that gets too close.
