OSRS Sailing Island: New Boss, Weapons, Teleports & More

OSRS Sailing Island: New Boss, Weapons, Teleports & More

Jagex has released a brand-new poll focused on the upcoming island coming to Old School RuneScape. The survey features six questions covering everything from a brand-new boss and its unique rewards to Crafting improvements, new teleports, a powerful Slayer Master, and a fresh Hunter activity. Here's a complete breakdown of every proposal and everything we know about them so far.

A New Two-Handed Weapon Inspired by the Scythe

A New Two-Handed Weapon Inspired by the Scythe

The first poll question focuses on the main reward from the island's new boss: a brand-new two-handed weapon called Hallowfell. Its attack range is designed to feel similar to the iconic Scythe of Vitur, one of the strongest weapons in Old School RuneScape, though with noticeably lower damage.

The proposed stats are:

  • 117 Slash Attack
  • 25 Stab Attack
  • 110 Strength Bonus

Players will only be able to obtain Hallowfell by defeating the island's new boss, a massive corrupted angel that is shaping up to be one of the biggest encounters arriving with the Sailing update.

While the weapon certainly looks exciting, many players have pointed out that Old School RuneScape already has a long list of niche weapons that rarely find a place in the current meta. It wouldn't be the first time an impressive-looking reward ends up gathering dust in players' banks just a few months after release.

The Boss Will Also Drop a Teleport Scroll

The Boss Will Also Drop a Teleport Scroll

The second poll question introduces a new Teleport Scroll that works much like the ones already available from several other bosses, including:

  • Zulrah
  • Cerberus
  • Araxxor

Once obtained as a drop from the boss, the scroll can be stored in your teleport book, giving you quick and convenient access whenever you want to return for another kill. It's a familiar system that has worked well for other repeatable bosses, making farming sessions much faster and eliminating the need for long trips back to the encounter.

A New Crafting Minigame and an Upgraded Chisel

The third poll question is likely one of the most exciting additions for players who spend a lot of time training Crafting.

The new island will introduce a Crafting Golem, a brand-new skilling activity that rewards players with an upgraded Chisel. Rather than replacing the existing one, this new tool adds several unique perks that make cutting gems more efficient.

Key Benefits of the New Chisel

  • 20% chance to preserve certain gems instead of consuming them while cutting.
  • A chance to cut two gems at once, making Crafting slightly faster.
  • 10% chance for a single action to process two gems instead of one.
  • Certain gems will no longer break once you reach the required Crafting level, making training less wasteful and more consistent.

A New Kharedst's Memoirs Teleport to the Island

The fourth poll question introduces another fast travel option for reaching the new island.

After completing the new quest, Fallen From Grace, players will unlock a brand-new teleport inside Kharedst's Memoirs.

The book already offers several teleport destinations, but if this proposal passes, a new location will be added that takes players directly to the Sailing island.

This would make getting to the new content much quicker, eliminating the need to sail across long distances every time you want to visit the island.

A New Teleport for the Upcoming Slayer Master

A New Teleport for the Upcoming Slayer Master

The fifth poll question focuses on the new Slayer Master arriving alongside the island.

After completing the Fallen From Grace quest, players will also unlock a direct teleport to the cave where this new NPC will be located.

Right now, reaching that area isn't particularly convenient, so adding a dedicated teleport would make returning for Slayer assignments much faster and far less repetitive.

What Makes This Slayer Master So Good?

While the teleport is a nice quality-of-life upgrade, the real highlight is everything this new Slayer Master brings to the table.

Some of the proposed benefits include:

  • A higher chance of receiving Superior Slayer monsters.
  • More Slayer experience from every completed assignment.
  • Increased odds of obtaining Clue Scrolls while completing tasks.

With perks like these, it's easy to see why many players already believe this could become the best and most rewarding Slayer Master in Old School RuneScape.

Do We Really Need More Teleports?

One of the biggest talking points surrounding this poll is just how many new teleports Jagex continues to add to the game.

The entire concept behind the new island revolves around Sailing, a skill built around exploring the world by sea and discovering new locations.

However, if players can instantly teleport to the boss, the island, and even the new Slayer Master, part of that sense of exploration could disappear over time. It'll be interesting to see how the community votes and whether all of these convenience features ultimately make it into the game.

Hunter Is Getting a Brand-New Training Method

Hunter Is Getting a Brand-New Training Method

The sixth and final poll question introduces a new Hunter training activity aimed at players between levels 60 and 80. The activity will revolve around a new mechanic known as Goat Hunting.

Interestingly, this poll isn't asking players how the training method should work. Instead, Jagex wants feedback on the cosmetic rewards that could come with it.

Players are asked to rank their preferred reward from three different options:

  • Option 1: A brand-new exclusive Hunter pet.
  • Option 2: A new metamorphosis for an existing pet.
  • Option 3: No cosmetic reward at all.

The final decision will depend entirely on the community's votes, making this one of the more interesting questions in the poll for collectors and pet hunters alike.
