New Rune System in WoW Classic Season of Discovery

The arrival of Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft Classic brings with it a groundbreaking feature that promises to redefine character customization—Rune Engraving. No longer confined to traditional skill and talent systems, Rune Engraving allows players to enhance their characters by adding new skill abilities directly to their equipment. In this comprehensive guide, we'll unravel the intricacies of Rune Engraving, exploring what it entails and what awaits adventurers in this new realm of customization.

What is Rune Engraving?

Rune Engraving introduces a revolutionary character customization system, offering players the ability to imbue their equipment with new skill abilities. Unlike traditional talent systems, Runes augment existing abilities or introduce entirely new capabilities, allowing players to redefine their class identity.

Key Features of Rune Engraving

1. Universal Knowledge

All characters will possess Rune Engraving from the moment of character creation.

The system kicks in at level 25, granting three initial Rune slots in Chest/Robe, Pants, and Gloves. As characters progress beyond level 25, they can unlock additional slots in various gear items over time.

2. Dynamic Customization

Runes can be freely swapped out of combat, providing dynamic customization options based on the situation.

Runes operate independently of the talent system, enabling the addition of abilities beyond the conventional skill set.

3. Faction-Specific Buffs

Certain Paladin and Shaman runes will bestow buffs that were once faction-specific, adding an intriguing layer to character customization.

4. Slot Specificity

Runes are assigned to specific slots, preventing cross-assignment. For instance, a Glove rune cannot be assigned to Pants.

5. The Rune Engraving User Interface

A dedicated interface for Rune Engraving will be seamlessly integrated into the UI, providing an intuitive platform for players to manage and customize their Runes. The interface, as teased in the Blizzard Press Kit for Season of Discovery, promises a visually engaging experience.

Class-Specific Runes: A World of Choices

With over 100 Runes available in the 1-25 level bracket across all nine classes, players can look forward to a myriad of choices. Blizzard has revealed three runes per class, offering a sneak peek into the diverse options that will shape each class's identity.

Druid Runes and Locations

Living Seed Rune - Chest

Alliance:

Teldrassil: Loot 3  Glade Flower and combine them into a  Glade Crown. Find the Wooden Effigy at /way 66.9, 57.5, and use the crown on it. An Unleashed Nature Spirit Elite mob will spawn. Kill the mob to loot the Rune.

Horde:

Mulgore: Loot 3  Prairie Flower and combine them into a  Prairie Crown. Find the Wooden Effigy mob /way 37.7, 49.5, and use the crown on it. An Unleashed Nature Spirit Elite mob will spawn. Kill the mob to loot the Rune.

Wild Strikes Rune - Chest

Both Factions:

Drops from level 14-15 Grimtotem Tauren NPCs, such as Grimtotem Ruffian and Grimtotem Sorcerer at the southeastern entrance of Stonetalon Mountains, around /way 80, 88.

Fury of Stormrage Rune - Chest

Alliance:

Teldrassil (Starting Area): Get quest from the druid trainer in the starting area and kill Grell that are also needed for the quest  The Woodland Protector. This will give a  Lunar Idol drop. Equip it in the relic slot and follow its instructions (Kill 6 enemies while affected by Moonfire) then click it. It will change into the Fury of Stormrage.

Horde:

Mulgore (Starting Area): Loot the Chest in Brambleblade Ravine /way 61, 76, for  Lunar Idol. Equip it in the relic slot and follow its instructions (kill 6 enemies while affected by Moonfire) then click it. It will change into the Fury of Stormrage.

Survival of the Fittest Rune - Chest

Both Factions:

This rune is sold by Grizzby, located in Ratchet. To purchase this rune, Grizzby will require you to complete the following pre-quests.

 Shredder Turbochargers - You will need to bring Grizzby 16  Shredder Turbocharger. These are acquired by using  Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Shredders in the Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains.

 Dark Iron Ordinance - You will need to bring Grizzby 20  Dark Iron Ordinance. These are acquired by slaying Dark Iron Insurgent in North Loch Modan, or Dark Iron Rifleman and other Dark Iron dwarves in North Wetlands.

 Fish Oil - You will need to bring Grizzby 24  Fish Oil. These are acquired by slaying murlocs in Hillsbrad or Wetlands. You may also use the Auction House as these items are fairly common.

Starsurge Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

A dwarf inside a cave in the Wetlands, /way 35 14, gives players a  Marshroom, which will allow players to speak to a Frog sitting on a stump in a pond at /way 31 18. The Frog rewards the Rune.

Lifebloom Rune - Legs

These interactable corpses have 6-7 minute spawn timers, so you may wish to group up for this to save time.

Alliance:

Teldrassil: On the North side of Teldrassil there is a Skeleton where the Harpies are, /way 33 35. This begins a ritual. Other party members can activate the ritual, and the Druid will still receive the rune.

Horde:

Mulgore: Speak to the Adventurer's Remains at /way 60 33; this is inside the Venture Co cave near the northern exit. This begins a ritual and summons an Adventurer's Spirit. Interact with the spirit to receive the rune. Other party members can activate the ritual, and the Druid will still receive the rune.

Skullbash Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

 Rune of Skull Bash is purchasable for 4 50 when you reach Honored with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Savage Roar Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

Darkshore: The Ferocious Idol is dropped by Den Mother. Equip the Idol and deal 20 instances of bleeding damage to humanoids, then activate it from the character sheet to learn Savage Roar.

Loch Modan: The Ferocious Idol has been reported to drop from a plant (?) around 71,20, just outside the Mo'grosh Stronghold cavern. Equip the Idol and deal 20 instances of bleeding damage to humanoids, then activate it from the character sheet to learn Savage Roar.

Westfall: The Ferocious Idol drops from Riverpaw Gnolls, such as those inside the Gold Coast Quarry. Equip the Idol and deal 20 instances of bleeding damage to humanoids, then activate it from the character sheet to learn Savage Roar.

The Barrens: The Ferocious Idol can be found by opening Kolkar's Booty within other Centaur camps. Kill centaurs to obtain  Kolkar Booty Key. Equip the Idol and deal 20 instances of bleeding damage to humanoids, then activate it from the character sheet to learn Savage Roar.

Sunfire Rune - Gloves

Alliance:

Teldrassil: around /way 63.2, 64.2, you will see three white Lunar Stones. Cast  Moonfire on each stone. A Lunar Chest will appear then containing the  Rune of the Sun.

Horde:

Mulgore: around /way 35.72, 69.61, you will see three white Lunar Stones. Cast  Moonfire on each stone. A Lunar Chest will appear then containing the  Rune of the Sun.

Lacerate Rune - Gloves

Alliance:

Loch Modan: Purchase  Rainbow Fin Albacore Chum from Khara Deepwater In Loch Modan at around /way 40 39; then feed it to a thresher in The Loch (chum vendor is hostile to Horde).

Both Factions:

Darkshore:  Crab Treats drops from Furlbogs or is fished up in Darkshore. Feed it to a Young Reef Crawler.

Barrens: around /way 44 22, you will find an Abandoned Snapjaw Nest by the Northwest edge of the Forgotten Pools. Interact with this object to receive  Abandoned Snapjaw Egg. Take this item to The Easternmost point of the Lushwater Oasis Pond at /way 48 40. and interact with the Empty Snapjaw Nest.

Wild Growth Rune - Gloves

Both Factions:

Pick up the quest  Trial of The Owls from Loganaar in Moonglade. You will need to pick up three Owl symbols to complete this quest. These do not have to be completed in order.

 Symbol of the First Owl can be found in Northeast Ashenvale at around /way 89 41. You have to defeat three waves of level 25 enemies, with two enemies in each wave.

 Symbol of the Second Owl can be found in Duskwood. Head to the Northeast part of The Twilight Grove to pick up a buff at around /way 50, 35. Continue East of the grove to the Worgen area and look for a level 25 boar named Agon.

 Symbol of the Third Owl can be found in Hillsbrad, and requires you to swim between two islands at around /way 36 76, and /way 54, 82, in less than 2 minutes using your aquatic form (click each statue).

When all three Owl Symbols have been obtained, return to the Druid trainer in Moonglade and hand in the  Trial of The Owls quest to get Wild Growth.

Mangle Rune - Gloves

Once you've obtained the following drop, remain over 50 Rage for 60 seconds to learn the new engrave:

Alliance:

Teldrassil: Drops from Rageclaw (also subject of quest  Druid of the Claw)

Horde:

Mulgore: Drops from Flatland Prowler (also needed for quest  The Hunter's Way) or Prairie Wolf Alpha (also needed for quest  Wildmane Totem).

Hunter Runes and Locations

Aspect of the Lion rune - Chest

Both Factions:

Kill Carrodin at (/way 42.2, 64.1) in the Thelgen Rock Cave (filled with spiders) in the Wetlands (entrance at /way 53, 64).

Master Marksman Rune - Chest

Hunters must find a Rustling Bush and use their  Hunter's Mark on it. This will spawn a Poacher mob (Razormane Poacher, Fallenroot Poacher, or Venture Co. Poacher), which drops the rune when killed.

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: The Rustling Bush can be found at (/way 29, 49).

Teldrassil: The Rustling Bush can be found at (/way 46.6, 46.3).

Horde:

Durotar: The Rustling Bush can be found at (/way 38, 52).

Mulgore: The Rustling Bush can be found at (/way 59.02, 54.38).

Lone Wolf Rune - Chest

Both Factions:

This rune is sold by Grizzby, located in Ratchet. In order to purchase this rune, Grizzby will require you to complete the following pre-quests.

 Shredder Turbochargers - You will need to bring Grizzby 16  Shredder Turbocharger. These are acquired by using  Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Shredders in the Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains.

Cobra Strikes Rune- Chest

Both Factions:

Purchase  Freshwater Snapper Bait from Zixil, the wandering goblin vendor in Hillsbrad Foothills.

Use the bait on a small fishing boat at the lake, south east of Tarren Mill to spawn Koartul, which will drop the rune when killed.

Kill Comand Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

Head to Stonetalon Mountains and find Jixo Madrocket, located at (/way 59.20, 62.41). He will give you the  Wild Wyvern Wrangling quest.

To complete the quest you will need to retrieve two items, a  Hypnotic Crystal and a  Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic.

The  Hypnotic Crystal drops from Mutanus the Devourer, the last boss in the Wailing Caverns Dungeon.

 Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic is created by combining a  Greater Magic Wand and a  Wild Magic Essence, which drops from Furbolgs in Ashenvale (Foulweald Totemic for example).

With these two items in hand, you can turn in the quest. You will receive a follow up quest,  Wrangling a Wild Wyvern.

Follow Jixo Madrocket, and watch him tame a Wyvern.

Upon turn in you will get  Rune of Kill Command.

You will also earn the  Wyvern Taming Wand, which allows you to tame a Young Pridewing - your very own Wyvern!

Sniper Training Rune- Legs

Alliance:

Darkshore: Head to the coast and look for dead turtles (around /way 47.8, 16.0). In the head of one, you'll find a  Gnarled Harpoon. Head into the water and search for Paxnozz (around /way 48, 15). Use the harpoon to lower the Thresher's health and kill it to receive this Rune.

Westfall: Drops from the Defias Scout.

Loch Modan: Drops from Kackle around (/way 54, 54).

Horde:

The Barrens: Talk to Kilxx by the docks in Ratchet. Purchase a  Fishing Harpoon, then head into the bay and find Bruuz circling around a boat underwater (/way 65, 40). Use the harpoon to lower the shark's health and kill it to receive this Rune.

Serpent Spread Rune - Legs

Rune of Serpent Spread is purchasable for 4,50 (gold) when you reach Honored with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Flanking Strikes Rune - Legs

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: Drops off Jorul. Summon it at (/way 37.9 42.5) by using  Dun Morogh Pig Meat found on nearby Boars.

Teldrassil: Drops off Mowgh. Summon it at (/way 48.3, 31.4) by using  Teldrassil Bird Meat from Strigid Owl in the area.

Horde:

Durotar: Drops off Raluk. Summon it at (/way 68.7, 71.4) by using  Durotar Pig Meat from Dire Mottled Boar in the area.

Mulgore: Drops off Mokwa. Summon it at (/way 36, 57) by using  Mulgore Bird Meat found on nearby Swoops.

Beast Mastery Rune - Gloves

Alliance:

Westfall: Loot  Goretusk Haunch from Goretusk mobs. Use this bait at a Coyote Dwelling near the coast (/way 32.8, 35.9) to spawn Silverspur, then kill it for the rune.

Darkshore: Kill Furbolgs in the camp (/way 38.66, 56.89) until one drops  Crab Treats. Find a Young Reef Crawler on the nearby beach and give it the  Crab Treats, which in turn will grant the Rune.

Loch Modan: Found in a Trophy Case next to Daryl the Youngling (/way 83.4 65.2).

Horde:

Silverpine Forest: Kill Ferocious Grizzled Bear until a Grizzled Protector spawns. Kill this Elite bear for the Rune.

The Barrens: Just North of Camp Taurajo (around /way 44.4 55.4), there is a Patrolling Cheetah that has a speed buff. In order to remove this buff, you must drop a trap on his path. Once the buff has been removed, you can kill the Patrolling Cheetah and loot the Rune.

Chimera Shot Rune - Gloves

This is the starting rune for Hunters. It drops from mobs during the corresponding quests listed below:

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: Quest  Trek Through the Caves, drops from Frostmane Troll

Teldrassil: Quest  A Hunter's Strength, drops from Githyiss the Vile

Horde:

Durotar: Quest  Hunt for the Rune (Orcs) and Quest  Rugged Terrain (Trolls). drops from Scorpid Worker

Horde:

Durotar: Use  Adder Pheromone to tame an Adder. Once you've tamed it, speak to Razzil in Razor Hill (/way 52.2 43.8).

Mulgore: Use  Prairie Dog Musk to tame a Prairie Dog. Once you've tamed it, speak to Takoda Sunmane in Bloodhoof Village (/way 46.2, 60.3).

Tirisfal Glades: Find the Odd Melons near Solliden Farmstead. Cast  Polymorph on 6 of them and loot the  Apothecary Notes. Combine 6 of these to create the rune.

Mass Regeneration Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

Head to Raven Hill in western Duskwood. Go into the northeastern crypt, head down and take a left into the first big room. Close to the entrance there will be an object that you can interact with that will contain a  Decrepit Phylactery.

Exit the crypt, and instead head to the crypt in western Raven Hill. Go down and take a right into the room that has a stone throne.

In the room you will find Slumbering Bones that you can use the Phylactery on. This will summon a level 25 Elite Awakened Lich that casts Banish. This elite drops  Spell Notes: Mass Regeneration.

Be careful of the level 35 elite Mor'Ladim that roams the area!

Living Flame Rune - Legs

Kill the following mobs for drop:

Alliance:

Durotar: Kill Frostmane Shadowcaster and Frostmane Seer southwest of Brewnall Village.

Elwynn Forest: Kobold Geomancer in and around Jasperlode Mine.

Horde:

Silverpine Forest: Rewarded for completing the  Wand to Bethor Questline. Begins with  Resting in Pieces on Fenris Isle from  A Talking Head, which drops from gnolls on the island. Drop rate can be low. Complete next quest  The Hidden Niche and pick up  Wand to Bethor, which takes you to Undercity. Turn in the quest to receive the Spell Notes.

Arcane Blast Rune - Gloves

Both Factions:

In Zoram Strand, Ashenvale, kill Wrathtail Naga until they drop  Naga Manuscript. The riddle of the book requires you to find three crystals along the Zoram Strand (coordinates below). Cast  Arcane Explosion on each crystal, starting with the South crystal and working your way north. Complete the casting successfully to receive the rune.

Icy Lance Rune - Gloves

Pick up quest from your class trainer in the starting zone at level 2.

Alliance:

Durotar:  Spell Research - Burning Blade Familiars, Valley of Trials

Paladin Runes and Locations

Seal of Martyrdom Rune - Chest

Talk to Brother Romulus in Stormwind Cathedral.

Take the western stairway down; follow it to the lowest level to find a note on a ledge, next to a candle, /way 33 24.7. This may take some time to respawn.

Go to an island at the river intersection between Elwynn Forest, Westfall, and Duskwood - coordinates in Duskwood, /way #1431 4.4 28.4. Find Ada Gelhardt on the island and fight her. She will surrender rather than die, but get the last hit for credit. Talk to Ada to receive the rune.

Divine Storm Rune - Chest

1. Click on the orb at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Northern Darkshore.

2. Go to Maestra’s Post in Ashenvale and speak with Delgren the Purifier, who will begin  Advice From Stormwind.

3. Turn this quest in to Katherine the Pure, who will begin the follow-up quest,  A Second Opinion.

4. Speak with Ursula Deline in the Stormwind Mage Quarters to receive the quest  Earning Your Salt.

5. In Redridge Mountains, kill Blackrock Summoner until you have looted 14  Summoner's Salt.

6. Turn the quest in at Stormwind to receive the follow-up,  It Must Be Destroyed.

7. Go to Demon Fall Canyon in Ashenvale and kill Searing Infernal, Felguard, and Mannoroc Lasher until you loot 12  Mote of Mannoroth.

8. At around /way 89 77, you will find Mannoroth's weapons. Click on the circle below the weapons, and a broken orb will drop to the ground. Interact with this to begin the final quest in the chain,  Return to Delgren.

9. Once this has been completed, you will receive the Rune.

Horn of Lordaeron Rune - Chest

Loch Modan: Go to one of the lower rooms of the tavern in Thelsamar. There will be a Libram of Blessings on the table that gives a quest. Give Blessings to 5 different players to receive the Rune.

Westfall: Kill undead enemies in Westfall and loot Libram of Blessings, which gives a quest. Give Blessings to 5 different players to receive the Rune.

Aegis Rune - Chest

You will need to be at least level 8 to do this, as that is when you learn  Purify.

Dun Morogh: In front of the gates of Gnomeregan, west of Dun Morogh, you will find a Wounded Adventurer, /way 25.6 43.0. Use the spell  Purify and talk to him.

Elwynn Forest: Use  Purify on the Wounded Adventurer at the end of Jasperload Mines, a new section with spiders, /way 62.0 47.6.

Divine Sacrifice Rune - Legs

Both Races:

This rune is sold by Grizzby, located in Ratchet. In order to purchase this rune, Grizzby will require you to complete the following pre-quests.

 Shredder Turbochargers - You will need to bring Grizzby 16  Shredder Turbocharger. These are acquired by using  Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Shredders in the Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains.

 Dark Iron Ordinance - You will need to bring Grizzby 20  Dark Iron Ordinance. These are acquired by slaying Dark Iron Insurgent in North Loch Modan, or Dark Iron Rifleman and other Dark Iron dwarves in North Wetlands.

 Fish Oil - You will need to bring Grizzby 24  Fish Oil. These are acquired by slaying murlocs in Hillsbrad or Wetlands. You may also use the Auction House as these items are fairly common.

Inspiration Exemplar Rune - Legs

Dun Morogh: West of Kharanos, inside the wendigo cave. There is an Adventurer's Remains on the ground, /way 43.0 49.6. Right-click to summon a portal and have a second player right-click to summon an Adventurer's Spirit. The mob will die, and you can both loot the rune and learn it.

Elwynn Forest: East of Jerod's Landing, there is an Adventurer's Remains on the ground, /way 52.4 84.6. Right-click to summon a portal and have a second player right-click to summon an Adventurer's Spirit. The mob will die, and you can both loot the rune and learn it.

Avenger’s Shield Rune - Legs

Redridge Mountains: Kill Dro'zem the Blasphemous, a level 23 rare Elite spawn orc. He can spawn in several locations, so check the database entry. Most reliable location seems to be the cave in the northern part around /way 34.8 7.6.

Exorcist Rune - Legs

Duskwood:  Libram of Banishment will drop off several Defias mobs, including Defias Night Runner, Defias Night Blade, and Defias Enchanter. These are primarily located in Yorgen Farmstead and the farm south of Raven Hill Cemetery.

You must then  Turn Undead 5 enemies, and slay them with  Exorcism. After completing this task, you will be rewarded with the  Exorcist ability.

Rebuke Rune - Legs

Stormwind City: Speak to the Bartender Liv Bradford in the Park in Stormwind at /way 22.6 64.6, and use the dialogue option "How's business?". She will let you know business is poor due to a local drunk. Talk to the nearby drunk Stuart (level 10) - and defeat him for the rune.

Only the person who gets the final hit on the drunk will get credit, regardless of who tapped the target first. There is no group credit for this.

Beacon of Light Rune - Gloves

Rune of Beckoning Light is purchasable for 4,50 (gold) when you reach Honored with the new Supply Faction, Azeroth Commerce Authority.

Crusader Strike Rune - Gloves

Requires level 4 for casting  Judgement.

Dun Morogh: Dwarf Paladins are given the  Relics of the Light quest from the Paladin trainer to recover a stolen  Libram of Judgement, which has a chance to drop from nearby Frostmane Trolls in Coldridge Valley. Equip the libram, then use  Judgement 10 times to gain the fully inspired buff. Activate the equipped Libram from your character sheet to then learn Crusader Strike.

Elwynn Forest: Human Paladins are given the  Relics of the Light quest from the Paladin trainer to recover a stolen  Libram of Judgement, which has a chance to drop from nearby Defias in Northshire. Equip the libram, then use  Judgement 10 times to gain the fully inspired buff. Activate the equipped Libram from your character sheet to then learn Crusader Strike.

Hand of Reckoning Rune - Gloves

Loch Modan: Inside a Stonesplitter Valley cave, there is a Sunken Reliquary that contains a  Libram of Justice, /way 36.8 91.4. Players will then need to kill 10 enemies that have been stunned by  Hammer of Justice

Westfall: Libram of Justice is dropped from Defias Drone in southeast Westfall. Players will then need to kill 10 enemies that have been stunned by  Hammer of Justice.

Priest Runes and Locations

Void Plague Rune - Chest

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: Drops from Leper Gnome outside Gnomeregan or can be looted from a cache near Gibblewilt.

Elwynn Forest: Drops from Goldtooth.

Teldrassil: Found all the way at the bottom of the Ban'ethil Barrow Den in a Gnarlpine Cache (where you get the last of the four boxes during  The Relics of Wakening).

Horde:

Durotar: Drops from Kul Tiras Sailor and Kul Tiras Marine.

Tirisfal Glades: Drops from Gillgar (/way 25, 48).

Serendipity Rune - Chest

Find Grizzby in Ratchet at level 25 and complete three quests for him to unlock his vendor tab. This will allow you to purchase  Harmonious Epiphany for 5.

 Shredder Turbochargers: Use  Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredders to obtain the 16  Shredder Turbocharger items required for this quest.

 Dark Iron Ordinance: Simply kill the Dark Iron Dwarves in northern Wetlands obtain the 20 required  Dark Iron Ordinance drops for this quest.

 Fish Oil: The  Fish Oil drops from level 28+ murlocs in Wetlands or Hillsbrad Foothills. You will have to farm or buy 24 of them

Strength of Soul - Chest

Both Factions:

Aquire  Primal Insight from any Thistlefur mob in Ashenvale, then climb up the tree at (/way 38, 29) past the cave entrance. Use the  Primal Insight next to the dreamcatcher with two different Meditation buffs active at once.

Twisted Faith Runes - Chest

Alliance:

Loch Modan: Inside the Silverstream Mine, kill Kobolds until you receive an  Offering Coin as a drop. Taking the first left inside the cave, you should see a well - throw the coin in to receive the Rune.

Westfall: Drops from the Undying Laborer found in the Gold Coast Quarry. Use Holy Damage to kill it.

Darkshore: Obtain  Shatterspear Offering from Naga mobs, then drop into the pit of the Ruins of Mathystra and use the offering on a statue underwater (/way 59.2 22.6).

Horde:

The Barrens: Obtain  Helping Hand from Razormane mobs. You need to use  Resurrection (Rank 1 specifically) on someone for the hand to open it and loot the Rune from it.

Silverpine Forest: Drops from Wailing Spirit at (/way 60, 74).

Power Word: Barrier Rune - Legs

Prayer of Mending Rune - Legs

After finding Adventurer's Remains or Adventurer's Spirit in one of the locations listed below, you will have to team up with another healer of any class to start the ritual. This will summon a mob, which will drop a rune for every player involved when defeated. However, the mob will despawn for some time after somebody finishes it, meaning it's harder to complete in popular zones.

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: Located in the Grizzled Den at (/way 43.0, 49.6).

Elwynn Forest: Located to the east of a hill in southern Elwynn Forest (/way 52, 84.5).

Teldrassil: Located near Oracle Glade at (/way 33.6, 35.6).

Durotar: Located south of the Valley of Trials (/way 48.0, 79.6).

Mulgore: Located in the Venture Co. Cave (/way 60.4 33.6).

Penance Rune - Gloves

This Rune is learned during the course of various starting quests for Priests.

Circle of Healing Rune - Gloves

Any Faction:

Duskwood:  Dark Insight drops from Defias Night Runner and Defias Enchanter. The secluded grave you have to bring it to is located at roughly (/way 90, 30), northeast of Darkshire. You must have two meditation buffs active to learn this Rune. The route in the image below allows you to avoid the high level ghouls and safely make it there.

Shadow Word: Death Runes - Gloves.

Alliance:

Loch Modan: Kneel (/kneel) at the Heretic Idol in Mo'grosh Stronghold.(/way 71.8 27.6).

Westfall: Drops off Leprithus.

Darkshore: Interact with a glowing orb on a small island at (/way 30.5, 47.5).

Horde:

The Barrens: Find the Desert Mirage (around /way 54.8 35.6) and cast  Dispel on it.

Silverpine Forest: Loot a scroll on the table near Thule Ravenclaw at the top of the tower on Fenris Isle.

Rogue Runes and Locations

Deadly Brew Rune - Chest

Both Factions:

Once you reach Level 20, you will receive a letter in the mail titled "An Offer" from C. You'll then need to go to Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest.

Just outside the ramp leading to Shadowfang Keep you will find a hut. Inside there is a chest, looting it will give you the quest  The Horn of Xelthos.

This quest will send you to find Veenix in Stonetalon Mountains. He will ask you for  Venture Co. Work Order, which can be pick pocketed or looted from Venture Co. Operator. When you return the  Venture Co. Work Order to the goblin, he will you the  Breaching Charge.

Now it's time to head back to Shadowfang Keep and enter the dungeon alone (The Rare Elites Gemela and Gefell only spawn if you enter alone). With  Breaching Charge you can open the gate straight ahead when you enter the dungeon, giving you access to the entire Keep without having to kill the first boss.

You will need to stealth around the dungeon and pick pocket the two rare elites mentioned for  Sister's Half-Key and  Brother's Half-Key.  Distract can be very helpful, as there are some spots where the mobs are tightly packed together.

Gemela is located in the Ball Room, just after the Kitchen. Gefell is found if you go up the stairs past the Ball Room and head to the corridor on the right.

With both halves in hand, find a safe spot and combine them into  Twin Key (this puts you out of stealth). Head back to the Stables found in the Courtyard close to the entrance, and use the key on the chest found there. Inside you will find the  Horn of Xelthos!

Head back outside to the hut with the chest, and turn in  The Horn of Xelthos.

Once you enter a major city you will get another mail, which will then allow you to go back to that same hut with the chest to receive your reward:  Rune of Deadly Brew.

Just a Flesh Wound Rune - Chest

Rune of Teasing is purchasable for 4 50 when you reach Honored with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Quick Draw Rune - Chest

These all involve pickpocketing or looting four map fragments (Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right) to create a whole map. Each requires looting and/or pickpocketing from a different group of mobs. Combine and use the map to reveal the treasure. You cannot mix fragments from different zones to create a map. Chests despawn when looted so you may need to wait briefly for respawn.

 Dun Morogh Treasure Map - Troggs, Leper Gnomes, Trolls, & Dark Iron Spies. Treasure is under a bridge between Kharanos and Ironforge at /way 46,96, 43.73

 Elwynn Treasure Map - Kobolds, Gnolls, Defias Bandits, and Murlocs. Treasure is near a stump near Ridgepoint Tower at /way 80.30 79.42.

 Teldrassil Treasure Map - Bloodfeathers, Viscious Grells and Rascal Sprites, Timberlings, and Gnarlpines. Treasure in the hollow stump behind the building in Rut'theran Village, /way 55.33 90.84.

 Durotar Treasure Map - Sailors in Tirisgarde Keep, Burning Blade Cultists in Thunder Ridge, Quilboar near Razor Hill, and Trolls in Echo Isles. Treasure in the southernmost part of the Echo Isles.

 Tirisfal Treasure Map - Rot Hide Gnolls North of Brill, Murlocs on the Northern coast, Scarlet humans to the West, and Human Farmers to the West. Treasure is under the bridge in Tirisfal Glades, /way 52.9 54.0.

Slaughter From The Shadows Rune - Chest

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: There is a chest atop the Kharanos Inn - go around the left side of the building (facing it) and go up the mountain to get there.

Elwynn Forest: Just north of Goldshrine Inn there is a house, /way 46.0, 62.2. Use the crates to climb on the roof where you will find a chest containing the rune.

Teldrassil: Found inside random Gnarlpine Caches inside the Barrow Den.

Horde:

Durotar: Found inside a chest at Drygulch Ravine, /way 53.8 27.1

Tirisfal Glades: Found inside a Relic Coffer in Agamand Crypts, /way 52.5 25.8;  Agamand Relic Coffer Key can be looted from nearby mobs.

Between the Eyes Rune - Legs

Alliance:

Ironforge: Loot the Rune from the Dusty Chest, which is located right outside of the Rogue trainer area in the Forlorn Cavern, to the right of the stairs in an alcove, /way 51.9 12.8. Upon looting the chest, two Level 10 Cut-throat Mugger will spawn. Defeat them to receive the rune.

Stormwind: Found in the Dwarven District in Stormwind. Go to the end of the alley and into the house. Upstairs next to the bed there is a Dusty Chest at /way 61.9 29.3; open it and 2 level 10 Cut-throat Mugger will spawn. Defeat them to receive the rune.

Teldrassil: Acquire the  Gnarlpine Stash Key from killing or pickpocketing any Gnarlpine enemies in Teldrassil. Then use the key to open Gnarlpine Stash at around /way 37.9, 82.5.

Horde:

Orgrimmar: Found in The Drag around /way 56 45, next to the house of Zilzibin Drumlore.

Tirisfal Glades: Found in a Shipwreck Cache underwater in Tirisfal Glades near /way 65.9, 25.6. Pickpocket the key from any Murloc in the area.

Blade Dance Rune - Legs

Alliance:

Darkshore: Kill Naga at Cliffspring River Cave in Darkshore until they drop a key. At the end of the cave, there will be a ledge with the three mob pack and a chest that contains the Rune.

Loch Modan: Pickpocket Dark Iron Dwarves in Loch Modan until you receive a  Dark Iron Lockbox, which Requires Lockpicking Level 1. Pick the lock to receive the rune.

Westfall: Pickpocket Defias in Westfall until you receive  Discreet Envelope. Inside the envelope should be a  Message from Emily and an  Equipment Stash Key. The note will show your next destination and the key will unlock the Equipment Stash at this location. The Rune will be found within this chest outside the back entrance of the Deadmines area, /way 40.81 80.23. You do not have to go into the Deadmines instance.

Horde:

Barrens: Pickpocket Southsea pirates south of Ratchet to loot  Buccaneer's Matchbox. Then up on the hill is a wooden camp area. There is a gunpowder bucket at /way 61.78, 45.80. Click it to blow it up, and then you can open a chest and receive the rune.

Envenom Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

At Durnholde Keep in Hillsbrad Foothills, behind the building with Tog'thar there is a vendor. Purchase  Hot Tip for 75.

Open  Hot Tip to receive  Safe Combination.

Follow the river North until you enter Western Plaguelands. You'll see a waterfall just before the lake with a Rusty Safe at the bottom that contains this Rune, /way 59.4 84.6.

Mutilate Rune - Gloves

Alliance:

Dun Morogh: Kill Dark Iron Dwarves just south of Helm's Bed Lake in Dun Morogh until you receive  Blackrat's Note. Blackrat can be found stealthed at Misty Pine Refuge at a boat near the frozen lake, /way 57.2 45.4.

Elwynn Forest: Pickpocket Garrick Padfoot, then deliver the note to Cutty, who is stealthed on the south side of the wall, just up the river from Crystal Lake, just south of Northshire, /way 50 52. This leads to a quest

Teldrassil: Drops off of Lord Melenas in the cave north of Dolanaar.

Horde:

Durotar: Find stealthed troll Ba'so, /way 51,58. Pickpocket the Burning Blade thugs above Razor Hill at around /way 55 36, and you will get a note. Return to Ba'so and turn it in.

Tirisfal Glades: Pickpocket Captain Perrine at /way 51.8 67.4, then take his signet ring to the Brill town hall to create a forged document. Take this document to Jamie Nore to receive the rune.

Shadowstrike Rune - Gloves

All are picked up at level 2 from the starter area's Rogue Trainer. You don't need to complete the quest to get the rune, but it rewards a handy pair of Gloves you can use to engrave the Rune. The quest is primarily a breadcrumb to lead you to the rune's location.

Alliance:

Dun Morogh:  Thrice Stolen/ Thrice Stolen tells you that the rune was stolen by the Frostmane. It's in the Coldridge Valley caves near Grik'nir the Cold, on a side ledge around /way 30 80.

Elwynn Forest: Thrice Stolen directs you to find a rune stolen by the Defias. It's in a chest near some outhouses at /way 52.5 51.9.

Teldrassil: Second-Story Work sends you to find a rune in a hidden compartment inside an owl idol. Roof of main building in starting area at /way 59.70, 42.58, next to an owl figurine. Jump down from the walkway around the tree; it's on the edge of the roof.

Horde:

Durotar: Atop the Cliffs requires you to open a chest from the nearby cliffs. It is directly adjacent to the spawning point inside Valley of Trials.

Tirisfal Glades: The Scarlet Rune asks you to kill or or pickpocket Scarlet Convert in eastern Deathknell until you get the rune.

Saber Slash Rune - Gloves

Alliance:

Darkshore: Located in a small pocket of interactable dirt between the tree roots of the Auberdine Lighthouse, /way 32 37.

Loch Modan: Located inside a Stonemason's Toolbox on a platform behind quest givers at the Stonewrought Dam, /way 46.4 12.7

Westfall: On the hill behind the Sentinel Hill Inn, there is an Defias Scout Scout with an  Escape Plan buff, which will cause them to flee if they sense danger. Use  Stealth to avoid detection and Pickpocket Defias Scout.

Horde:

Barrens: Head to Northwatch Hold. As you pass the main gate look to your left, you'll see a stable with a chest on the roof. Go up and around to the right and jump down onto the wall behind the stable. Once there you can jump to the roof and loot the chest for the rune. You need lockpicking (80) to open this chest.

Silverpine Forest: Go to the entrance of Shadowfang Keep and use Sprint to jump to the Rusty Chest on a small platform at /way 45.3, 67.3. A movement speed bonus like  Sprint is required to make the jump.

Shiv Rune - Gloves

Both Factions:

Pickpocket Defias Night Runner in Duskwood until you loot  Engraved Gold Ring. There are some just south of Raven Hill Cemetery. Equip the ring.

Find the statue in the middle of the Raven Hill Cemetery at /way 19.9 45.5, and /kneel in front of it.

Main Gauche Rune - Gloves

Both Factions:

This rune is sold by Grizzby, located in Ratchet. In order to purchase this rune, Grizzby will require you to complete the following pre-quests.

This rune is sold by Grizzby, located in Ratchet. In order to purchase this rune, Grizzby will require you to complete the following pre-quests.

These are random spawn totems on the ground; listen for the lightning cast sound to help you pinpoint the location.

Durotar: Players will find a  Galvanic Icon around Durotar. After interacting with them, kill 10 enemies with  Lightning Bolt to learn the rune.

Mulgore: Players will find a  Galvanic Icon in random locations around Mulgore, most commonly near the border with the Barrens. After interacting with them, kill 10 enemies with  Lightning Bolt to learn the rune.

Overload Rune - Chest

Troll / Orc:

At Level 2 accept  Icons of Power /  Icons of Power from Shikrik.

Go kill Scorpid Worker until you get  Dyadic Icon.

Equip your  Dyadic Icon

You now need to find a source of nature damage, the most obvious source is to continue fighting Scorpid Worker but you could also get nature damage by dueling a  Shaman with  Lightning Bolt and  Earth Shock or a  Hunter with  Serpent Sting

Once you have taken nature damage 10 times you will receive the  Inspired buff.

Now use the  Dyadic Icon from your equipped items and you can turn in the quest to Shikrik.

Tauren:

At Level 2 accept  Icons of Power from Meela Dawnstrider.

Go kill Bristleback Shaman until you get  Dyadic Icon.

Equip your  Dyadic Icon

You now need to find a source of nature damage, the most obvious source is to continue fighting Bristleback Shaman but you could also get nature damage by dueling a  Shaman with  Lightning Bolt and  Earth Shock, a  Druid with  Wrath or a  Hunter with  Serpent Sting.

Once you have taken nature damage 10 times you will receive the  Inspired buff.

Now use the  Dyadic Icon from your equipped items and you can turn in the quest to Shikrik.

Healing Rain Rune - Chest

All Races:

 Rune of Healing Rain is purchasable for 4,50 (gold) when you reach Honored with the new Supply Faction, Durotar Supply and Logistics.

Ancestral Guidance Rune - Legs

This requires at least 2 people as one person will need to click a portal while the other channels. This can be accomplished in a group, though another Shaman is the safest bet.

Durotar: There is a tree in Kolkar Crag (canyon inhabited by centaurs south of Valley of Trials) with an Adventurer's Spirit located on the ground behind it, /way 48.0 79.6. Channel this corpse and you will unlock the rune.

Mulgore: Find an Adventurer's Spirit in Mulgore on an overlook at /way 60.4 33.6; you have to go through the Venture Co. Mine to reach it. Talk to the corpse to start a ritual and then click the portal.

Earth Shield Rune - Legs

This rune is a several-step process, beginning with defeating the first boss of the new Blackfathom Deeps Raid.

All Races:

Kill Baron Aquanis, of Blackfathom Deeps, who will drop a special orb to be turned in.

Pick up  Elemental Distress, a new Shaman quest available at the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale.

Defeat elementals in Ashenvale and Charred Vale to get quest motes.

Obtain an  Elixir of Wisdom and  Elixir of Water Breathing for  Elixir of Insight.

Defeat Hirzek in Southern Barrens.

Way of Earth Rune - Legs

Barrens: Use  Purge on a Desert Mirage at around /way 59 37.

Silverpine Forest: Rot Hide Mystic in northern Silverpine Forest drops  Rot Totem, which when used summons a level 15 Elite. The Rune drops from this Elite.

Shamanistic Rage Rune - Legs

All Races:

Stonetalon Mountains: South of the Charred Vale, near the entrance to Desolace, there is an Elite enemy called Primordial Anomaly. This Elemental will shift among fire, frost, and earth, and you will need to use the mob's elemental weaknesses to kill it.

Water Shield Rune - Gloves

The Barrens: Can be found by looting Kolkars' Booty chests using  Kolkar Booty Key looted from Kolkar centaurs. Once acquired, players will need to hit 10 non-player enemies with 3 different elements (Nature, Frost, Fire) to receive this Rune.

Silverpine Forest: Can be looted from Grimson the Pale within the Deep Elem Mine in Silverpine Forest. Once acquired, players will need to hit 10 non-player enemies with 3 different elements (Nature, Frost, Fire) to receive this Rune.

Lava Burst Rune - Gloves

All Races:

Hillsbrad Foothills: The  Kajaric Icon drops from Mudsnout Shaman in the eastern part of the zone.

After equipping the Relic, you have to take damage from lava 5 times.

Once you have taken lava damage 5 times, you will receive the  Inspired buff. ]You can now use the  Kajaric Icon from your equipped items, which will teach you  Engrave Gloves - Lava Burst.

Lava Lash Rune - Gloves

All Races:

Thunder Bluff: Complete a three-quest chain starting with  Stalk With The Earthmother, from Boarton Shadetotem located behind the Bag Vendor in the Lower Rise. Find  Seaforium Mining Charge in the Venture Co. Mine,  Collect Pinecone from Harpies, and fillet a  Raw Brilliant Smallfish to learn the skill.

Molten Blast Rune - Gloves

Durotar: East of Razor Hill is a Frozen Makrura trapped in ice inside a small hut, /way 58.8 45.4. Use Fire spells to stack a Fire Damage debuff five times, then  Sulfurous Icon can be looted. After equipping  Sulfurous Icon you need to defeat 10 enemies with Earth Shock, after which you can use the Relic from your equipped items and learn the rune.

Mulgore: At the Bael'Dun Digsite southwest of Thunder Bluff, you can find a chest, Artifact Storage at /way 31.6 49.5. To open it you will need to loot  Artifact Storage Key from nearby Dwarves. Inside you will find  Sulfurous Icon. After equipping  Sulfurous Icon you need to defeat 10 enemies with Earth Shock, after which you can use the Relic from your equipped items and learn the rune.

Warrior Runes and Locations

Flagellation Rune - Chest

Both Factions:

Head to Raven Hill in western Duskwood. Go into the northeastern crypt, head down, and take a left into the first big room. Close to the entrance there will be an object that you can interact with that will contain a  Decrepit Phylactery.

Exit the crypt, and instead head to the crypt in western Raven Hill. Go down and take a right into the room that has a stone throne.

In the room you will find Slumbering Bones that you can use the Phylactery on. This will summon Awakened Lich, a level 25 elite that casts Banish. This elite drops  Rune of Flagellation.
Be careful: Mor'Ladim, a level 35 Elite, patrols through this area!

Blood Frenzy Rune - Chest

Drops off Wandering Swordsman mob, found in several locations (see Wandering Swordsman for locations because as advertised, he wanders. Challenge him to start the process.

Alliance:

Horde:

Durotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades

Raging Blow Rune - Chest

Both Factions: For this Rune, talk to a gnome NPC named Alonso in Ashenvale near the Stonetalon entrance, /way 42 70. He will ask you to bring three Dragonslayer items:

Dragonslayer's Shield: Behind Gath'Ilzogg, the elite Orc in Stonewatch Keep, Redridge Mountains. It is on the wall, takes a few seconds to pick up so have to kill the mobs.

Dragonslayer's Lance: In Wetlands at Dun'modr from a neutral NPC named Dark Iron Entrepreneur. You will see a building with a big Keg on it, on the left side facing the town. He sells it for 75.

Dragonslayer's Helm: In Shadowfang Keep behind Commander Springvale. There will be a shiny helm to pick up.

Warbringer Rune - Chest

Both Factions:

This rune is sold by Grizzby, located in Ratchet. In order to purchase this rune, Grizzby will require you to complete the following pre-quests.
Shredder Turbochargers - You will need to bring Grizzby 16 Shredder Turbocharger. These are acquired by using Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Shredders in the Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains.
Dark Iron Ordinance - You will need to bring Grizzby 20 Dark Iron Ordinance. These are acquired by slaying Dark Iron Insurgent in North Loch Modan, or Dark Iron Rifleman and other Dark Iron dwarves in North Wetlands.
Fish Oil - You will need to bring Grizzby 24 Fish Oil. These are acquired by slaying murlocs in Hillsbrad or Wetlands. You may also use the Auction House as these items are fairly common.

Furious Thunder Rune - Legs

Elwynn Forest: Dropped from Goldtooth, Mother Fang

Consumed By Rage Rune - Legs

Both Factions:

Dropped by elite owl Carrodin at Thelgen Rock in the Wetlands. Located all the way at the back of a cave at /way 47 64.

Frenzied Assault Rune - Legs

Thunder Bluff: Speak to Netali Proudwind at the Spirit Rise. She'll ask you to get rid of Mooart, located just behind you. Defeat him to earn the rune.

Tirisfal Glades: Speak to Penny Hawkins at the Brill inn. She'll ask that you remove Blueheart from the basement - head downstairs and defeat him to earn the rune.

Orgrimmar: Speak to Zamja in The Drag. She'll ask you to kill Gru'ark outside of the cooking hut to receive the rune.

Ironforge: Talk to the Innkeeper Bruuk Barleybeard, who will ask you to kill Bruart, located between the door and the staircase.

Stormwind: Speak to to the Innkeeper in The Park, who will ask you to remove the drunk from the entrance - ensure you get the final blow and return to the innkeeper.

Teldrassil: Speak to Innkeeper Keldamyr in Dolanaar, who will ask you to remove a drunk on the second floor. Defeat him to earn the rune.

Victory Rush Rune - Gloves

Durotar: Open the Hidden Cache, which requires a small jumping puzzle directly next to the spawn point inside the Valley of Trials.

Elwynn Forest: Open the Kobold Stashbox at the very back of the Echo Ridge Mine.

Dun Morogh: Dropped by Frostmane Trolls in Coldridge Valley, as part of the The Lost Rune.

Teldrassil: Complete Amidst the Shadowed Webs by slaying webwood spiders in Shadowthread Cave.

Mulgore: Open the Bristleback Loot Cache at 51,76 in the Brambleblade Ravine.

Tirisfal Glades: Open the Lost Stash in the back of a spider filled cave at 24,59.

Endless Rage Rune - Gloves

Alliance (Westfall): Drops from Old Murk-Eye.

Alliance (Loch Modan): In Loch Modan, you can loot a Battle Totem from the elite ogres at Mo'Grosh Stronghold. Use this item to challenge the Level 19 Elite Haren Swifthoof. Kill him to receive this Rune.

Alliance (Darkshore): Find Lady Sedorax in Darkshore, near Cliffspring River. She is surrounded by Twilight Cultists. Killing her will reward the Endless Rage Rune.

Horde (The Barrens): Find the Horde Warbanner in the Crossroads and take it to Northwatch Hold. There will be an Alliance banner at the top of the hill. Replace it and a mob that has a Fear ability will be summoned. Defeat him for the Rune.

Horde (Silverpine Forest): Head to the Skittering Dark Cave and kill the Web Wrap inside. Lost Adventurer will be released and start fighting you. Once killed, he drops the Rune.

Devastate Rune - Gloves

Human: Turn in the Severed Kobold Head, Severed Murloc Head and Severed Gnoll Head to Viktoria Woods in Stormwind at 69.8, 50.0 in Old Town.

Dwarf & Gnome: Turn in the Pristine Trogg Heart, Severed Troll Head and Severed Wendigo Paw to Junni Steelpass in Kharanos, at 46.6, 53.6.

Night Elf: Turn in the Severed Tiger Head, Severed Owl Head, and the Severed Spider Head to Delwynna in Darnassus at 63.3, 21.8 near the Leatherworking trainers.

Orc & Troll: Turn in the Severed Quilboar Head, Severed Harpy Head and Severed Centaur Head to Vahi Bonesplitter in Razor Hill, at 53.0, 43.6.

Tauren: Turn in the Severed Quilboar Head, Severed Harpy Head and Severed Gnoll Head to Vateya Timberhoof in Bloodhoof Village, at 46.4, 61.8.

Forsaken: Turn in the Severed Bat Head, Severed Murloc Head and Severed Gnoll Head to Dorac Graves in the Undercity, at 48.0, 70.2 in the Apothecarium.

Single-Minded Fury Rune - Glove

Rune of Single-Minded Fury is purchasable when you reach Honored with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Quick Strike Rune - Gloves

Human: Kill Defias to obtain Gillsbane, which can then be used to kill murlocs to acquire a Soul of the Sea. Interact with the Medusa statue at 25,68 to spawn a level 20 non-elite mob which will drop the rune.

Dwarf: Loot Troggs around 41,72 in Loch Modan to acquire a Cracked Skull-Shaped Geode, then get hit by a Stonesplinter Skullthumper trogg's stun.

Night Elf: In Darkshore, loot the Gnarled Harpoon at around 47.8, 16.0. Use this item to weaken the level 20 Elite Paxnozz and kill it for this Rune.

Horde: Head to Ratchet and talk to Kilxx by the docks. Purchase a Fishing Harpoon and head into the bay and find Bruuz circling around a boat at the bottom. Use the harpoon to lower the shark's health and kill him to receive this Rune.

Warlock Runes and Locations

Lake of Fire Rune - Chest

Both Factions

Hillsbrad Foothills: Purchase the Demolition Explosives for 5 Gold from Zixil, the wandering Goblin merchant.

Head to Durnholde Keep and use the Demolition Explosives on the Rubble at (/way 79, 40). Destroying this Rubble will reveal a chest containing the Rune.

Master Channerler Rune - Chest

Alliance

Loch Modan: Buy Malevolent Pie from Greishan Ironstove. Eat it and he will give you the rune.

Darkshore: Drops from Dark Strand Fanatic.

Westfall: Warlocks must complete several steps in a process:

Kill Harvest Watcher or Rusty Harvest Golem to obtain Spare Reaper Parts.

Kill Dust Devil for Elemental Core.

Combine the two items to create Prototype Engine

Find a Harvest Reaper Prototype and use the Prototype Engine to activate and defeat it.

Horde

The Barrens: Siphon your own health away with Health Funnel while standing on the Altar of Thorns. Upon reaching 0 health, the Warlock will be healed to full and granted the Rune.

Silverpine Forest: Cast Curse of Recklessness on and defeat a Sadistic Fiend inside a cave at (/way 56, 45).

Soul Siphon Rune - Chest

Alliance

Dun Morogh: Drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain Pure Soul Shard. Drain Captain Beld to obtain Tainted Soul Shard. Trade both Shards to Gaklik Voidtwist in Kharanos.

Elwynn Forest: Drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain Pure Soul Shard. Drain Hogger to obtain Tainted Soul Shard. Trade both Shards to Damien Kane, found in the basement of the Goldshire Inn.

Horde

Durotar: Drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain Pure Soul Shard. Drain Gazz'uz to obtain Tainted Soul Shard. Trade both Shards to Darmak Bloodhowl in Razor Hill.

Tirisfal Glades: Drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain Pure Soul Shard. Drain Maggot Eye to obtain Tainted Soul Shard. Trade both Shards to Denton Bleakway in Undercity.

Demonic Tactics Rune - Chest

Alliance

In Elwynn Forest, go to the Jasperlode Mine and loot the Dead Acolyte near (/way 56.8, 57.0).

Take the artifact to the warlock trainer in Goldshire, then go back to the Dead Acolyte.

Use Powerless Artifact on the spot, will give you Blood Offering.

You have 10 minutes to go to Gakin the Darkbinder in Stormwind. He will take your debuff and give you the rune.

Horde

In Tirisfal Glades, go to the Scarlet Monastery and loot the Dead Acolyte near (/way 76.6, 44.4).

Take the artifact to the Warlock Trainer in Brill, then go back to Dead Acolyte

Use Powerless Artifact on the spot, will give you Blood Offering.

You have 10 minutes to go to Carendin Halgar in Undercity. He will take your debuff and give you the rune.

Everlasting Affliction Rune - Legs

Rune of Everlasting Affliction is purchasable for 4 50 when you reach Honored with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Redridge Mountains: Drops from Incinerator Gar'im at (/way 77, 85).

Demonic Grace Rune - Legs

Elwynn Forest:

Use the reagents on the summoning circle at The Slaughtered Lamb Inn in the Mage Quarter in Stormwind and kill Soboz.

Loot Makrura Leg from Makrura mobs

Loot Kul Tiran Skull from Kul Tiran mobs in Tiragarde Keep

Use the reagents on the summoning circle near Zalazane and kill Soboz

Tirisfal Glades:

Obtain Ominous Tome from Darkeye Bonecaster.

Use the reagents on the summoning circle in the Sewers location in Undercity - up where the flight path usually flies you over. Kill Soboz.

Demonic Pact Rune - Legs

Find Grizzby in Ratchet at level 25 and complete three quests for him to unlock his vendor tab. This will allow you to purchase Rune of the Pact for 5.

Shredder Turbochargers: Use Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredders to obtain the 16 Shredder Turbocharger items required for this quest.

Dark Iron Ordinance: Simply kill the Dark Iron Dwarves in northern Wetlands obtain the 20 required Dark Iron Ordinance drops for this quest.

Fish Oil: The Fish Oil drops from level 28+ murlocs in Wetlands or Hillsbrad Foothills. You will have to farm or buy 24 of them

Metamorphosis Rune - Gloves

Both Factions

Receive  The Orb of Soran'ruk from Doan Karhan in South Barrens (/way 49, 57). This will require you to loot 3x Soran'ruk Fragment and 1x Large Soran'ruk Fragment.

•  Soran'ruk Fragment are dropped from Twilight Acolyte, these can be found in the ruins outside Blackfathom Deeps, or inside the raid.

• Large Soran'ruk Fragment is dropped from Shadowfang Darksoul inside Shadowfang Keep.

Recieve the follow-up quest Rumors Abound. This will ask you to find the Orb of Des, and Bough of Altek.

• Loot the Orb of Des at the top of the Tower of the Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains.

• Loot the Bough of Altek at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore.

Accept the follow-up quest The Conjuring. This will require you to loot 10x Blood of the Legion.

• Blood of the Legion can be found by slaying Mannoroc Lasher, Searing Infernal, Felguard, and Legion Hound at Felfire Canyon in southeastern Ashenvale.

• After obtaining the blood, interact with the altar near the obelisk dedicated to Grommash Hellscream to begin a ritual, summoning a few waves of demons that must be defeated using Drain Soul while standing inside the purple rune on the ground. Defeat the final Searing Infernal this way to cause the Mysterious Traveler to appear and offer the Mysterious Traveler quest.

Return to the Barrens and turn in the quest to receive the final step, Raszel Ander, which will grant the Rune.

Shadow Bolt Volley Rune - Gloves

Alliance

Darkshore: Drops from Delmanis the Hated during the quest The Blackwood Corrupted.

Loch Modan: Kill Demonic Remains with a shadow spell at the ruins to the east around (/way 72, 69). It spawns Graix, who drops the Rune.

Horde

The Barrens: Use Drain Soul on Supervisor Lugwizzle to receive Soul of Greed. Use the Soul of Greed on the Hungry Idol at (/way 57.08, 9.73).

Silverpine Forest: Kill Ravenclaw Drudger and Ravenclaw Guardian until they drop Tortured Soul. Once gathered, Life Tap to receive a buff, and then use the item. This will spawn a Ghost mob to kill.

Chaos Bolt Rune - Gloves

Warlocks need to thaw a frozen enemy using Fire spells in order to earn this Rune. The locations of the enemies are as follows:

Dun Morogh: Find Frozen Trogg at Gol'bolar Quarry (/way 69.6 58.2).

Elwynn Forest: Find Frozen Murloc at Stonecairn Lake (/way 77.0 51.8).

Horde

Durotar: Find Frozen Makrura west of Razor Hill (/way 58.8, 45.6).

Tirisfal Glades: Find Frozen Murloc northwest of Brightwater Lake (/way 66.3, 40).

Haunt Rune - Gloves

This Rune can be obtained from a starting Warlock quest.
